Miami presently is one game off playoff pace. Conceding/assuming that 10-1 Tennessee will win its division, here is how the Dolphins stand among the nine teams realistically jockeying for the other five AFC playoff spots:

• Jets: 8-3, remaining opponents 23-32, three home games left.
(Den,@SF,Bill,@Sea.,MIA)

• Steelers: 8-3, remaining opponents 35-20, two home games.
(@NE,DAL,@BAL,@TEN,CLE)

• Patriots: 7-4, remaining opponents 26-29, two home games.
(Pitt,@Sea,@Oak,AZ,@Bill)

• Colts: 7-4, remaining opponents 19-35-1, three home games.
(@Cle,Cin,Det,@Jac,Ten)

• Ravens: 7-4, remaining opponents 27-27-1, three home games.
(@Cin,Was,Pit,@Dal,Jac.)

• Broncos: 6-5, remaining opponents 27-28, two home games.
(@Jet,K.C,@Car,Bill,@SD)

• Dolphins: 6-5, remaining opponents 20-35, one home game.
(@StL,@Bill,SF,@KC,@Jet)

• Bills: 6-5, remaining opponents 30-25, three home games.
(SF,Mia,@Jet,@Den,NE)

This Week WHO MIAMI DOLPHINS ARE ROOTING FOR.....
Den,Pitt,Cle,CIN,SF

If anyone of these teams win on Sunday
It helps the DOLPHIN in there PLAYoff races '08...

The scary thing is at this point it's possible for us to win out, go 11-5, and still miss the playoffs. How absurd would that be...

Haha, hopefully I am. I don't think a 11-5 team has ever missed the playoffs before, but looking at some of the schedules of the teams in the hunt, it could happen this year...

But hey, if the Phins win out, I'm sure the rest will take care of itself.

EDIT: Dude, you deleted your post! Now I look silly...

i don't think we are good enough to win out. 10-6 would be a dream season with or without a playoff appearance.

Steelers, Titans, Broncos are locks for their divisions, with the Patriots/Jets easily getting the first wild card spot and division title.

Really we are only competing with Baltimore and the Colts for the last wild card spot. Anything can happen, but I see the Colts playing strong down the end, while the Ravens fade off. We will likely tie with the Ravens as the 7th best team in the AFC, but the fact that we will end this season with at least 9, probably 10 wins is pretty darn impressive. If we don't make the playoffs next year, then I will be disappointed because we really are a couple solid players away from being a solid team.

How do you figure? A Pats loss this week and a Fins win and we're right back up there with the Patriots. Same with the Jets, they lose any game before Week 17 and we continue to win the week 17 game will be for the division.

It's far from over.

Damn straight ! It ain't over until the fat lady's dead !

The Lucky Chrams could lose tomorrow to CLE. IMHO they're looking past this game and the Browns did beat the Giants. It's outdoors and the weather looks terrible;

thanks man thats good work. i always try to figure **** out but one im too lazy and two im a burnout lmao.

What exactly is the situation if we go 4-1 the rest of the way? I just have a hard time believing we are going to win out, but I guess that's where the Jets game may come into play.

We need to win out . . . its that simple. 4-1 is ugh . . . mainly because of the Bmore loss.

Trust me, if we win out . . . we will make the playoffs . . . and I think we also wrap up the division with the better AFC conference record than both the Jets and the Pats. There is no wayyy every team wins out that is in the mix . . . it will not happen . . . it does not happen.

My non-homeristic view is that the Dolphins will make the playoffs.

Division Winners:

Tennessee 14-2
New York Jets 12-4
Pittsburgh 11-5
Denver 8-8

Wildcard Race Final Standings:

Inidanapolis 11-5
Miami 10-6 (Loss at Jets) (Own tiebreaker due to better conference record)
New England 10-6 (Losses against Pittsburgh and Buffalo)
Baltimore 9-7
Buffalo 9-7

I do love your optimism. Wish I could share it. :( I am, however, going to remain hopeful.
