Week 17 Scenarios before MNF game


AFC East
Miami can clinch the division with:
MIA win or tie.
Miami can clinch homefield advantage throughout the playoffs with:
MIA win + OAK loss + TEN loss + one PIT loss + MIA wins strength of victory tiebreaker over OAK and TEN.

NOTE: “Strength of victory†is the season-ending winning percentage of all the opponents a team has defeated.

Miami can clinch a first-round bye with:

MIA win + one PIT loss + OAK loss, OR
MIA win + one PIT loss + TEN loss, OR
MIA win + TEN loss + OAK loss + MIA wins strength of victory tiebreaker over OAK and TEN.
Miami can clinch a playoff berth with:

NYJ loss or tie + DEN win, OR
NYJ loss or tie + KC loss or tie.
Note: There are other scenarios in which Miami can clinch a playoff berth if it is determined that after this week’s games they will own the strength of victory tiebreaker over the teams they are tied with. Miami can clinch homefield advantage throughout MIA win + OAK loss + TEN loss + one PIT loss + MIA wins strength of victory tiebreaker over OAK and TEN.
