Its A Long Season
Still 14 games left. Lets definately take it one game at a time. For those who dont want to do that then lets look at it this way.
1) As we saw last year things can definately get turned around. In order to make the playoffs though we have to do that earlier than we did last year. Like Saban said in his press conference on monday, people have to change the way they decide to do things and they will when they want to. No one can make them. Hopefully these guys will do this earlier this year and treat this game like the Cleveland debacle.
2) Looking at it realistically, winning home division games is a must. In order to get that game back the phins will have to win a game in the division that was "supposed" to be a loss; namely beating N.E on the road. Losing to the Steelers was a game you don't count on and if you win that its a steal.
3) So now lets examine the schedule....
The phins had 4 road games that most considered at the start to be 50/50 or worse possibility of winning Pitt,N.E.,Chicago and Indy(However we own them up there). And really only 2 tough home games N.E and Jax. So looking at that you figure we should win 10 and any win in those other 6 is a plus. So in order to make up for that buffalo loss we need to steal that Patriots game and sweep them since it was a divisional loss to the bills. And if you think about it if someone told you at the start that we would be 5-1 in the division you would rather have that loss to the bills than pats for the reason its more possible to need the tiebreak vs N.E.
None of this matters of course unless we start playing right, but in believing in Saban and the phins I will assume we get it right and win the next 2. That makes us 2-2 and in a HUGE game at New England. If the phins ever pull that off we suddenly are right back in it and actually better off than being 3-2 with losses to Pitt and NE. We would be 3-2 with losses to Pitt and Buffalo. SO DONT GIVE UP YET. And dont forget the Jets will be scrappy all year and playing a 3rd road game in a row is always a tough task so if the phins pull this scenerio off they arent out of the woods. If they do though and beat the Jets then look for the phins to be 5-2 going into the bye and in great shape because even the Titans should be able to beat the Packers at home. GOOOOOO PHINS!!!!!!!
