why is so many people worried about making the playoffs? we are rebuilding, trust me there are better team in the league than miami that will make the playoffs before us. But i do believe 10-6 will get you in the playoffs the wqay the AFC looks right now, last year it wouldnt but this year i think so

im not saying we r going to the playoffs. im saying people (the fans of finheaven) r predicting 10-6. all I want to know is if that would get us in. I know this is a rebuilding year but.... dude its just a stupid question I wanted thoughts on.

i gave you my thoughts on that

But i do believe 10-6 will get you in the playoffs the way the AFC looks right now, last year it wouldnt but this year i think so

if we were to go 10-6 with a win over the jets and maybe if we swept the bills..
if not its a tough go the teams who started slow are starting to pick it up

Ah memories of Jim Mora. Seems to me the staff is more interested in a learning experience this year, rather than just winning. Texans were quite beatable, but after some quick scores we changed attitude from playing to win to playing not to lose.
I don't see us in the playoffs for awhile, although that is always my expectation.

Would a 10-6 record get a team into the playoffs this year. I believe the answer to that question is yes.

Do I believe that 'we' will go 10-6, I believe the answer to that question in no.

I am back on my pre-season mark of 8-8 ... ranging from 7-9 to 9-7.

We are getting better ... without a doubt - but our secondary will continue to be very weak against strong WRs .... and there doesn't appear to be a solution on our roster right now.

No, last year it would just depend on tie-breakers. The Browns missed the playoffs at 10-6, the Titans made the playoffs with 10-6.

Anyways....to answer the question I do think 10-6 will definitely be good enough to make the playoffs. I don't even think a 10-6 team will have to worry about winning a tie-breaker to get in, to be honest.

IMO, with the dropoff from last year, there may even have to be a tie-breaker between 9-7 teams this year. Look at the NFC last year....the Redskins made it in at 9-7 WITHOUT a tie-breaker.

I think the Colts, Chargers, and Jets have the best shots at getting a wildcard spot.....as of now, they need to 8 more games to make it to 11-5. Do you think 2 of those teams can do that? I doubt it. I don't even know if 2 of them can win 7 more games and get to 10-6.

Hell I think we can go 13-3 . . . . I don't know about the rest of you lol.

We are more disciplined . . . turnover and penalties are down dramatically.

Our OLine has the ability to wear a defense out

We have a true and accurate game manager running our offense and a running game that potentially could be the best in the game.

To me, if we do everything that we have been doing . . . there is no reason why we CANT win every game on that schedule . . . obviously its all impossible to think we would have perfect execution every week . . . and even if we did, winning is no guarantee . . . but my point is . . . just know that we are a competitve team, and I can see us in almost every last one of those games that we play . . . so 13-3 . . . 10-6 . . . 7-9 . . . how about 3-3, put our focus on the Ravens . . . and lets get back to being a .500 team like we were before the Houston game . . . and then improve on that. We got a LONG 11 weeks ahead . . . we gotta watch out for injuries, I can't think all the way to January, we are still in October.

Yea, you're right. I'll just stop watching games and stop rooting for the team to win. I mean, what's the point since we are just re-building. No fan stuff for me.

I look at 'rebuilding' and 'building' and improving as eternal parts of an NFL team. During the season, until its mathematically impossible to make the playoffs, I'm going to assume my team is in the running. This is why you even play a season... the goal is to do your best, the best is the SB.

To answer OP, right now, with the week AFC, I could even see a 9-7 team sneaking in and I think a 10-6 team will be a lock. So the key this year is to never fall far from .500 and some where in there try to squeeze in a 3 or 4 game win streak. As far as playoff hopes go, the Baltimore game is HUGE since Buffalo will be tough.

Playoffs?.....Playoffs!?....you wanna talk about playoffs!?....were' trying to win a game here......Playoffs!? are you kidding me? Playoffs?

Every thread that I see about Miami making the playoffs this year will receive 1 star.

The Dolphins better win this week or these playoffs threads are going to turn into draft threads. Overall this season has been a little better than expected but I want to see them keep the ball rolling. I don't know what it will take to get a wildcard. I guess right now we are delighted with a wildcard but its all about winning the division. They are still within striking distance of Buffalo, who may be one of the most difficult games of the year, but first they have to figure how to beat the Houstons and Baltimores of the NFL. After losing to Houston and falling below .500 my thinking is just a win a game and get this ship back on course.
