Serioulsy, this is getting to be too much with all the second guessing of Saban. Opinions are what they are, but seriously, to pull anything negative out of our draft is a bit reactionary.
There were no good QB prospects in this last draft, time will prove it. Berlin, Orton, Rogers, are not the answers we need. To draft one, simply because we need one, makes as much sense as buying a microwave when you need a dishwasher. He will get a QB when the right one is there. Its not like the man thinks a QB isn't important or anything.
Drafting Ronnie Brown was the right move, also. Yes, Ricky came back, but we didn't know that then. At the time it was a need, and he was the BPA. So it was a no brainer. If you draft for need you are panicking. It makes you reach for players who aren't worth it, or then later spend too much in the FA period.
We'll still be in every game this year, and next year when our defense is loaded and a cohesive unit we can build the offense. If a rookie QB can take you to the AFC Championship game on his own then why did the Steelers even field a defensive unit?
There were like 10 holes to fill and only 7 picks to fill them. Do the math.
