Please exercise some patience in this decision. Everyone and their uncle can see this is merely a choice based on what is available at the time. Wait until after the super bowl if necessary, but wait. Caldwell, Rivera, or any other candidate, but wait. Heck, I would be excited about Ryan at Baltimore more so than I am with these two guys.
Patience. Please.

sorry buddy after Marino and Shula pulling for Gailey I think we are going to be stuck with him.

I agree. They both seem like bad choices. I'd rather have Martz than either of these two. I'd rather have Marty Schottenheimer over Martz.

Mora's declining record and funny behavior is pretty disturbing. I wouldn't consider him.

I really want to stay positive at this point, but this situation is really depressing....I'm just going to hold out a little bit of hope for Cameron here

I will support whoever the team hires. There is nothing we can do to change who they hire so we'll just have to live with it.

And the saga contnues . . .

Huizenga is one of the smartest businessmen in the world, and has a franchise worth hundreds of millions of $$ who's success rides on this decision. He also has some of the brightest minds in the business world working on this decision, yet everyone on this board is totally sure they know better than them. Lets remember while it is fun to have our personal opinions, we have one of the best owners in the NFL, and I myself will put my trust in Wayne. He has one helluvalot more at stake here than we do.

My thoughts are only based on his past track record in these specific decisions. I have no argument that Wayne is a tremendous businessman, but is he a bit of a pushover when it comes to his beloved Dolphins?

Agree on your points, but....

there is a thing called a track record and his hires have struggled a bit. I admit some of that was not his fault. But he has struggled at the glamour picks (Johnson and Saban) and the no frills pick (Wanny). I don't know all the inside information, but my gut feeling that I am not overly excited about Mora or Gailey, which probably means they will do ok. Definitely not glamour picks.

So what exactly is it that you want? You don't want glamour names...you do want glamour names? Which is it? And don't say Cam Cameron...I dont know where the love fest for him came from. I swear someone mentions a name and then the name is associated with other head coaching possiblites and all of a sudden...everyone is in love with that name. BTW, you can't take THAT much time in selecting a new head coach. There are things to do right now as a coach and everyday we don't have one is precious time being wasted.

I think they are pulling for Mora. Marino and Shula were both at the complex when Mora was there. I dont remember hearing anyting about them being there when Gailey was

Just an FYI on Mora Jr. He is a good coach who won games even though the owner meddled with the team daily. Arthur Blank sat in on all the meetings and basically handcuffed Mora. Mora was stuck doing what Vick wanted on offense rather than what the Mora/OC wanted to do. Mora ended up getting fired because he lost the team because of Vick. It would be hard as a player to respect a coach that has to do what the QB wants. That problem was one that Arthur Blank created and Mora did a very good job in spite of. The most telling part of the entire fiasco in Atlanta was Mora Sr's comments on Vick.

I want youth.. such as Tomlin...

But if I had to make a choice between the two apparent picks I would take Mora. The more I think about it and the post earlier regarding John Clayton's take on this it makes sense to bring in a guy to manage the good assistants who are here. Someone like Carroll probably wouldn't like that. I will support Mora the more I think about it.

Just wondering,

does anyone know if either of these two candidates share a history with Mularkey, that would suggest the chances of us resigning him, a more likely possibility?

Agreed. None of those coaches have the ability to take us to the big game.
