Please explain me, why are we already at cap-limit?

I'd dsay we have more "big names" then quite a few teams.

Bell
Long
Dansby
Davis
Bush
Burnett
Soliai
Starks

All of these(excluding maybe Bell, but at the time of his contract signing he was still in his prime) would be INSTANT starters and nearly EVERY NFL team. They are stars. They command a lot of money.

we do have some players that would be starters on many teams but Bush was not able to be a starter over Pierre Thomas, Burnett rode the bench for years, Starks rode the bench
and Bell at this point would not start for alot of teams. You could do this exercise with almost any team in the league

What is the number one and most important position on the field? Everyone will agree it is the QB position. If so, then look at how much of our salary cap we are devoting to the most important position on the field. More then Bell 6M more then Longs 12M more than Fasanos 4.5M more than Dansbys....

Look up how much we have allocated to our QB position. Case closed. WE can have 5 longs or 5 Bells and still never win a playoff game. Now you know why I as a fan for 32 years am upset about FA this year. Gerrard in the news put me over the top.

Column Highlighted in Red is the Cap Figures Column. This doesn't count Richard Marshall or Artis Hicks or Jamaal Westerman!

The ones in Teal are ones that are overpaid! IMO

Marshall Trade and Carey Restructure cost us basically $10 Million against the cap! Add in Tim Dobbins whom we extend and then cut and that doesn't help. All of the Constant Roster churning ends up costing us DEAD MONEY against the Cap!

Simply put, because we allocate entirely too much cap to positions (OL and def. front 7) that don't warrant it, while ignoring QB, WR and RB, the elite positions where cap $$$ MUST be spent.

NO starting QB in this league makes LESS than $8 Million per. Except ours.

It's not Madden.

How's the situation with other teams? Only way to make a fair comparison...

(also, lol at Livas' $677 cap number. It gets hard for those bottom of the roster guys...)
