Guys, I have never been to Boston, going up there in September for the Dolphins vs Pats and Yankees vs Red Sox games, please advise. Where should I stay that is relatively close to both, what are the must do events, places to see, restaurants etc. Any Dolphins groups that meet up there? It will be about 8 Dolphins fans representing our Phins. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Are you planning on renting a car? Because the stadiums are nowhere near each other. Or were you planning on taking public transportation? I think there is a train that goes to Foxboro. I would get a hotel in the city and drive down to the Fins game rather than get a hotel in Foxboro and have to drive into the city for the Sox game.

I am really jealous! The Red Sox are my favorite baseball team. That would be a dream trip for me. I hope you have a fantastic time!

I live in CT and have never been to Gillette or Fenway. Huge Yankees fan so I usually hit YS or MetLife. I'm on the western side so they are closer and let's face it, I don't want to spend money seeing the Phins lose at Gillette. Though I did go to a couple games at the old Foxboro stadium. Most people find it odd I haven't been to Fenway seeing is I've seen over 20 Yanks/Sox games at YS.

I want to do a home and home at Yankee Stadium and Fenway at some point. That would be amazing!

Best bet is to stay in the city of Boston for the Sox game, then look to travel down to Foxboro on the train.

The link I provided will give you some good information. http://www.mbta.com/riding_the_t/trains_to_gillette/

It's a great time at both stadiums, but Fenway is awesome. I go to at least 10 Red Sox games a year, the experience and atmosphere is great.

I should also be at both games in Sept. so maybe I can have a beer with some fellow fans. It gets lonely up here in Pats country

*Edit* Realized I only answer part of your question. As far as places to check out goes, The Freedom trail ,The U.S.S. Constitution, and Bunker Hill are 3 great historic places. Taking a duck boat tour can be pretty slow and boring (especially for locals) but you do get to see a lot of the city so you may want to look into that too.

As far as Restaurants and Bars go, If you want a great steak in a formal atmosphere Del Frisco's Double Eagle is a good place to go for a nice dinner. Patriot Place, which is the plaza next to Gillette, has a few restaurants within it that are cool. Toby Keith has a Bar & Grille there. Cask 'n Flagon next to Fenway was once rated the #1 baseball bar in America, and then a minute down Landsdowne St. the Bleacher bar is located within Fenway park. Inside that bar is a garage door that looks out onto Fenway from center field which is nice.

Hotel just comes down to personal preference and price. I'd get that booked ASAP though, a lot of rooms already gone for that weekend in places.

I will be at the Fins v Pats game in NE as well. I am going to Streetlight Manifesto concert at the house of Blues Sat night. If you are in to kicks go to Bodega, its so fresh. I love the Aquarium, and just that general area if you have never been to Boston is clutch. The North End(near aquaurium/Quincy Market) has amazing food. Get a Lobster Claw at either Mikes/or Standard Bakery. Have fun, and maybe I will see you there.

Make sure you check return trip times from Foxboro if you do use public transportation. It is a one oclock game so you shouldnt have any issue. I rode public transportation into Fenway from Plymouth once, and the game went extras, didnt even think about return transportation until it was too late...

Man i did not even think to catch all those games the same weekend. You might have just inspired my first trip to Foxboro. I love fenway i went for the 4th of July and had a great time.
