AMEN. This guy looks like he could be special. He is my favorite RB in the entire class and he can be ours for a steal in the 4th. I'm desperately hoping we draft this guy.
Unfortunately, like almost every year, the Dolphins do not pick any of guys I really, really like. So that probably means we will pass on Lache Seastrunk, James Hurst, Jeff Janis, Wesley Johnson, Aaron Colvin, Caraun Reid, McCullers, or any of the other prospects I think would be great for us, lol.
If we do pick Seastrunk, he has the lateral quickness and change of direction skills to create space when our OL can't open a hole ... which with this group is unavoidable. Seastrunk also has the exceptional acceleration to get through the slightest of openings allowing our weak run blocking OL to not have to hold their blocks all that long. Also, his small stature, low pad level and slippery running style will make him hard to arm tackle.
He has durability issues, average ball security, and didn't catch passes in college. But each of hose seem like minor issues in his case.
Durability:
Not great, but he slides off tackles minimizing or sidestepping the brunt of most impact. He is small, but we have a stable of backs with Miller being the less shifty speed back, so I'm less worried about Seastrunk since he will.not be a primary back.
Ball Security:
He wasn't terrible, but he can and will need to improve. This is a common problem with young RB's, but he has shown he can do it. For him it's more of a discipline thing. He should fix that naturally in his first year.
Pass Catching:
In Lazor's offense Seastrunk would be an ideal pass catching RB. He has all of the other skills if he catches the ball. Speed, quickness, wiggle, acceleration, etc. Seastrunk did very well in the pass drills at the combine and while Baylor didn't use him that way, I feel confident that his NFL team will because he has the ball skills. The only other piece is route running, but he will be running very simple routes.
Pass Protection:
This is a big one and typically where rookies come in raw. But hey, he has shown willingness and some ability, and in the 4th round you don't get finished products with physical ability like this.
Vision:
Not as good as Sankey, but he reads his downfield blocks well. He will have to learn from Lazor how to pick the right hole.
IMHO, he has a ton of talent and would be a steal in the 4th round. My fingers are crossed we draft him, because he would really excel in Lazor's system.
