Guys, Mike Martz is one of the all time worst coaches ever. I know you will say that he won a super bowl with the Rams as there OC, but guys, Please, He also called the shots on offense while he was head coach and they tumbled. The guy had Vermeil as his boss, Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner (in his prime), Isaac Bruce and a ton more talent, who couldn't win with that.....No Nicky, I beg you, not Martz

Martz was an offensive genious. I can find nothing that suggests he wouldnt be a good OC again. Like Norv Turner, not really HC material but one of the best OCs in the game. I would take him any day.

You really think so? Maybe I just haven't paid much attention to his past. Guess we will just see, thanks for the reply.

Well I mean think about it. He turned a no one named Kurt Warner and made him a 2 time MVP when he was packing groceries before. Then he took a no one like Bulger to the Pro Bowl. If he would have had a defense some of those years I think he would have done much better. When all he has to do is come up with insane offensive scemes he is a master. Its all that other HC BS he isnt so good at.

I say no to Martz too...this year, fans, media, and everybody who wanted to criticized Linehan for deciding to pass on two critical end of game red zone opportunities. (Falcons and Pats). Martz is way more pass happy than Linehan. Our running backs will do serioulsy under-utilized. I think Saban needs to focus on a more balanced OC.

He has developed a very sophisticated and effective offensive scheme that many other OC are copying.

He would be a great choice for OC but I dont want him to be our OC because I think he would only be around for a short time and we have had enough of OCs that are using the Dolphins as a stepping stone to further their careers.

IMO We need to develop a young promising OC to be with Saban for the long run.All of these different systems will just disrupt the continuity in our run to the SB.

IMO it will just stunt our growth.

Don't discount Martz... he runs such complicated formations and motions that sometimes the refs don't even know they're legal. He's responsible for one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) offenses of all time. His bumblings with the defense while HC really don't apply, as that's not his interest and never has been. He just wants to teach some offense, and he's great at it.

I do agree with CrunchTime, though. I believe Martz would have enough success in Miami that he would be gone in two seasons, and we'd be back in this position again.

You are an F'n genious, my friend... I agree....

Thank you, come again

Vermiel was the offensive genius, not martz

Martz knows his stuff on offense....I think he would make a better OC than an HC.....I would take him before Mullarkey.

I don't know how well Martz's system would work in Miami. His strand of the Coryell puts alot on the qb and with the questions you have there.......

I'm not a big Martz fan at all...

That being said, bringing him in, where he would be under Nick's thumb could turn into a coup.

It would expose Jason Garrett to yet another offensive scheme. Garrett is our offensive coordinator in waiting...I just don't think he is quite ready for the job. A year or two watching Martz run a passing game would do GREAT things for Garrett's knowledge base.

Martz's issue was having to coach a WHOLE team...that would not be a problem in Miami. He'd be very much the offensive coordinator...and nothing more.

I agree that they are both destined to be Oc's, neither were good HC's. i just wonder if Martz accepts that yet
