I would rather have Harrington or Lemon....In my opinion, neither of these guys are going to make it in the NFL....Let's draft some DBs and some O Linemen and call it a day....
 
yeah...

first of all...we wont get either of them...second, im a gator and i love leak...and i agree that he wouldnt make it in the nfl...at least not now...however, ive seen to mock drafts that say we get russel or quinn...whadya think?

I don't get it.
What is wrong with troy smith and chris leak, they put up great numbers in passing stats/rushing stats and they're very athletic. They both lead their teams to the biggest bowl game that they can get into at this point in there life.
Is it because their 6 feet tall?
Drew Brees, Michael Vick, Jeff Garcia, Mcnabb were all 6'0, 6'1, 6'2 and all have had awsum careers.

No offense to Leak or Smith but they are not my typical NFL quality QBs....Maybe they will succeed but I don't think they will....The 3 QBs we have right now are all in a much better position to lead this team....They only QB I would take in the Draft would be Russell and he definitely wont be there are #9....With that being said I think Brady has some potential....

Russell is high on a lot of boards and Quinn seems to be getting much criticism after his bowl game performance....These two guys are heads and heels above Smith and I don't even think Leak is in the conversation....Leak looks like a college QB nothing more....His mechanics are awkward and he was running that spread offense with all those gadget plays....Maybe he turns out OK but I really don't see anything special....

Quinn is a possibility but Russell from LSU is almost a lock at going to the Raiders. Al loves this kid and barring a complete blow up at the combine or personal workouts with the NFL scouts.....He is gone #1.

Good, he has the most potential of the top QBs to be a bust.

I have seen games this kid Russell played in. He makes some mistakes but his potential is off the charts. I don't see how he can be a bust. He needs a little work but I don't see it. If Al starts this kid right off the bat, then that is a recipe for disaster...Let the kid mature a little and also let their O-line get better before introducing their future QB. No need in destroying someone with that much potential. I guess we will have to see what they do and if Russell can handle the hype as a #1 should he go there.....

Well lets see.... If you would read most the things all over the net about the draft and all, that is what they are saying. Al supposedly loves a QB with his type of vertical passing style....thats all I was saying. Don't come on here and act like I am saying this as if I know Al....please.... Your statement seems a little like you want to make a stab at me..... Just stating what I have read over the past month or so ever since Russell made his decision to go to the NFL....

I've seen plenty of his games as well. He struggles against top talent defenses and builds stats with a GREAT WR corps against lesser opponents. His physical attributes are amazing, he's a great athlete. No denying that by any means. I'm not saying he WILL be a bust, just that he has that potential.

If they are around in the 4th round, why not? We definitely need to replace Joey Harrington. He's due to count $3.5mil against the cap. Who in their right minds pays that to a 3rd string QB?

Of course I'd rather have Stanton, Edwards, or Kolb...but if they arent available in the 4th and all you have are those guys you mentioned...you grab them. We need a developmental QB anyway.

Now that Lemon has showed us he is a legitimate #2 QB and more than just a developmental one...we need to cut ties with Joey and draft us a developmental QB in the 4th round.

Whoever the QB is doesnt really matter. DC and Lemon are going to be holding it down for a while so...:wink:

If the developmental QB doesnt show promise...we draft another one in the 3rd next year...:cooldude:

And if that one doesnt show promise...you draft one in the 2nd in 2009...and if he doesnt, you draft one in the 1st round in 2010...:D

By then, we would begin to really need to draft one anyway...
