Please take this in the spirit in which it's meant; I know how difficult your task is on this board, and I want this to be a constructive suggestion.

Having said that; Mods, please, PLEASE - I'm BEGGING you - can't you merge all the threads that are about the same damn thing? And be consistent about it, so that it becomes second nature to everyone to check existing threads before posting a new one...

For instance, very other thread on the board right now is about Saban; I know that seemingly everyone is interested in deconstructing every word publicly stated about the possibility of Saban coaching the Dolphins like the Warren Commission deconstructed the Zapruder film; but OMG - trying to find one enjoyable thread is like wading through the entire Everglades trying to find one particular alligator right now.

It is seriously affecting my enjoyment of the site - and I would find it hard to believe that I'm the only one who feels that way.

Ditto for the Ricky Williams threads, etc.

The problem is, if they combine all the threads about Saban, there would only be one gigantic thread, 40 pages long, and you'd still have to sift through that to get to the good stuff....I'm sorry to tell you, with an open thread starting policy, sifting through the junk comes with the territory.

I know that if I read a good thread, I make sure to use the thread rating feature so that others can find it easier. If more people did that....

I understand where you're coming from Nabo and I don't necessarily disagree. But here's the thing, every month or so, we get really big news; Ricky's retiring, Ogun gets traded, Wanny resigns, Ricky's coming back etc. And unfortunately, everyone wants to put in their 2 cents in a new thread instead of replying in an existing thread. But you can't make everybody happy. Some people want all the threads merged. Some people complain because all the threads get merged. They don't wanna shift through multiple pages. I'm not sure what the solution is, to be honest.

I hear you. And the truth is, I actually do that - rate threads. But there always seems to be someone with an agenda that will come in behind you and rate it low, because they don't agree with the thread subject, or dislike the thread starter.


I guess what I'm most disappointed in is the sheer number of @ssholes that rarely contribute anything at all, with their one-sentence slam posts; those seem to be the ones that clutter the board the most.

I don't know...I'm in a lousy mood today, and I guess everything's bothering me more than it normally would.

I can't wait for AJ to process my prem. membership. :)
