Plenty of Browns fans picking 'phins...

its not going to happen. just doesnt happen. its too early. there are no candidates available except the ones who do tv. and the ones who would take the job would have to continue with the same guys now, which is just as much a problem as sparano right now. its a wonder to me that you people who are so damn smart, dont seem to think things through. yeah, so you make nolan the HC, a guy who's defense is on the cuspe of collapse.
i understand that their are no candidates available now who would fill the void long term, but just think back all the way to 2004 when jim bates took over for wanny as interim head coach. we finished 4-12, but the team played with a sense of urgency, played with intensity, and looked like they cared.

last year, cowboys fire wade phillips, and coincidentally after that, they start playing with the type of intensity and level they are capable of. they showed that they cared.

sometimes just making a change will light a fire under a players skin, and as you mentioned we would not find out long term candidate now, but just a change for the sake of change may very well do the trick to be able to see the type of passion and intensity we would like to see from the fins.

hopefully we win this week though, and although that would not mean by any stretch of imagination that sparano is a good coach, heck we can win the next 4 games and i still dont think hes a good nfl coach, but it will at least just maybe give us a break from talking about coaches. winning cures lots of things.

Our defense is ranked dead last in the league right now? Just think, we were the 6th ranked D in the NFL last season!! My how things have changed.

I hope we watch Moore and Watson. Tight ends always kill us especially a 2 TE tandem.

you bring up some points here.

look at the cowboys now? improved? I would say not. Its early but check them out next week vs. philly. romo will find a way to screw it up. the HC cant fix that. Their drafts havent exactly been stellar. So yeah, the players have a positive reaction, for about a half year, until they see familiar scenes, just like we will.

secondly, if players need change in coaching to wake them up into the realization that they will be next on chopping block, then that in itself is a problem. I hope what JT said is about players quitting in practice and such and being lazy as opposed to sparano bashing. cus that aint right. particularly this early.

bottom line- every one wants change, but we've been changing for years now, no results. whats out there that will beat BB? not many. Not many beating him right now except the ones who are not going anywhere cus their teams are doing well.

i agree with your comment how that regardless of who the coach is, considering the amount of money these guys are making, they should play their hearts out no matter who the coach is. its their job to give 100% everytime they are on the field, and it shouldnt matter who the coach is.

as for what are the cowboys now, i agree that they are not anything special, but when i brought up last year for example during wade phillips, that team had way too much talent to have been playing the poor with such little intensity.

im not saying bring in a coach as an interim for the year and keep him, but just to light some fire under players skins, because as you said, we can not bring in the long term coach until the offseason.

the coach can only do so much, and you are right, we still are going to need the right personnel to be put in place to succeed. its not only the coach, but getting a coach in here who players will give it all for is a start.
