Welker was the big one. But they didn't raid us. We were just stupid enough to trade a key piece of the puzzle to an already elite rival.

How stupid could our FO have been??

If you remember, we didn't have a choice. He was a RFA whom we placed a 2nd round tender on (at the time he hadn't done very much w/us - in 3 seasons he had a little over 1100 yards receiving and saw the end zone only 2 times, 1 receiving and 1 on a KO return). New England was going to sign him to a poison pill contract that we couldn't even discuss matching. Since he was as good as gone for the 2nd with the poison pill, we reached a deal w/them for a 2nd and a 7th and they got to sign him to a contract a little more to their liking. The only thing our FO could have been called stupid for was the 2nd round tender, but as I said, his performance up to that point really didn't warrant anything higher than a 2nd round tender.
