Shocker. But not really. Consider the fact that Clay and Hillard can play his posistion, and that they provide versatility in other facets made this an easy cut. Not to mention his 1.2 million dollar salary.
 
Lata Louuuuu, best of luck. 09 was an awesome year for him. Unfortunately he wasn't good for us the 2 (or 3?) other years we had him, and the game has really evolved against traditional blocking FB's.
 
The other thread says Clay will take over for him. He better really work on his blocking. I'd be okay with Lex there though

Polite was great when he was unstoppable at third and short. But that makes us forget that the primary goal of the FB is to block, and not everyone has been incredibly high on his trailblazing. And since 2010, pretty much every defense knew to watch out for Polite, and the unstoppable became shut down.

I'm sure Hilliard is gonna get used at FB a lot, and I see no problem in it because Hilliard has exactly the type of mentality you want at FB. The dude is always going all out and is very physical.
