POLL: Does Chambers deserve his Pro Bowl selection?
790 The Ticket, the local sports radio station in south Florida has reported that ZT, JT, and Chambers made the Pro Bowl, with McMichael as an alternative. I believe there were 1 or two other alternates, but I don't remember who.
I'm scratching my head though because AFC stats show the following:
Catches Yards YPC TDs Long
Chad Johnson CIN 84 1260 15.0 8 70
Marvin Harrison IND 80 1127 14.1 12 80
Reggie Wayne IND 81 1034 12.8 5 66
Rod Smith DEN 79 1003 12.7 6 72
Chris Chambers MIA 72 992 13.8 9 77
Being that there are 4 WRs selected for the Pro Bowl, it's pretty safe to assume that the top 3 chosen were Chad Johnson, Marvin, and Reggie Wayne. That leads to the question...how did Chambers get chosen over Rod Smith?
As a Dolfan, of course I root hard for our players, but I'm objective at the same time. How does Chambers become a pro bowler largely because of a spectacular 3 game stretch? Pro Bowler or not, Chambers will have the same "monkey on his back" until he can be consistent over the course of the season.
