If the Dolphins improve and add wins to the column then definitely yes........if not
Jeff Ireland deserves every ounce of criticism that he gets, instead people want to exclude him from bad decisions and give him credit for what little positive there was.
1. "Jeff Ireland has done a masterful job of getting us in the position that we are in this year in regards to the cap / draft". Sure . . . when you trade first rounders for 2nd rounders and give up 2 2nds for 2 thirds and miss on the amount of free agents that he has missed on and get strapped with cap hits until they are off the books it may look like there is a breath of fresh air there . . . but most GMs don't get the chance he is getting because they have been dismissed by the time the cap turns positive.
2. All speculation, but at times, it has been reported that the owner has stepped in and overruled Ireland for the better of the team (No Orton / Philbin over McCoy)
3. Any GM that leaves their rookie QB out to dry with no weapons like Ireland did last season is just too ****ing comfortable with his job . . . and Ireland has no business being that comfortable. He needs to be put under pressure, instead people see Mike Pouncey and Reshad Jones and think he is some mastermind GM or something . . . please.
4. I wish him the best . . . this isn't a right or wrong thing here . . . we all want the Fins to win and for this season that means hoping Jeff Ireland hits the nail on the head with his decisions. Just because confidence is broken in his abilities doesn't mean people who aren't confident wouldn't love to eat crow in regards to him. It's the people that are comfortable with him that I worry about . . . he hasn't done anything to deserve any comfort or sympathy from anybody.
So far he has hit a home run in the offseason with free agents
By not making the playoffs this season it makes it easier for the coach and or GM to be replaced due to bullygate if that's what Ross wants to do. Ireland may not make it through this season. The team has potential but is very inconsistent. Wins over Indianapolis. Pittsburgh Cincinnati, San Diego and New England point to hope for next season. However, losses to Buffalo twice, Jets and Tampa Bay leave you wondering from week to week which Miami team will show up on any given week. If Miami does't make the playoffs next season heads have to roll, starting with Ireland.
I still really wish this poll was public.
But yeah, i say this bump is relevant. Season over, thread premise came true, and it should interesting to compare peoples reactions.
Personally I refrained from voting because my choice of letting the rest of the offseason(free agency still ongoing and the draft) play out and the regular season results wasn't on there. This is Ireland's third offseason in FULL control of the team and it must result in a winning season and a likely trip to the playoffs for him to get an extension. He shouldn't be extended now based on his excellent free agent class, nor should he be a shoe in to be fired without seeing what the draft and regular season brings.
While you would like to see who voted to keep him, I am as interested in seeing who said he should definitely be gone before we see the final results of what he did in 2013. Oh wait, I can see that. :evilmod:
I think you know how I voted.![]()

Abstained because there was no way the Dolphins finish 8-8? That sounds legit for us unknowledgeable posters.![]()
We really are the worst.
