Heres a very rough Estimate of our Cap Space:

Cut::Savings:
Reggie Howard :: 1.0 Million
T-Buck :: 6.5 Million
Damion McIntosh :: 4.2 Million
Junior Seau :: 2.1 Million

Total 13.8 Mil

Re-Struct:
JT :: 5.0 Million
Kevin Carter :: 2.7 Million
Bowens :: 1.5 Million

Total Savings:: 23.0 Mil

We are Over the Cap:: 8.3 Mil

Grand Total of about 14.7 Million under the cap for next season and that not cutting Madsion. If we do cut Madison we'll be under about 17.0 million. I would personally keep Madison, he's worth 2.5 Million especially with our need in the secondary

He has a 6.3 million cap number, is thirty somethinig and has ONE INT
in the last three years.........NO!

i said yes because im such a long time fan of his, and i know most of you would say no, ubt i really would like to see him finish his career with the fins, i know he doesnt fit and hes getting old but hes only got about 2 years left in him and i like him alot....i had questions a bout his playing ability but he seemed to turn it on at the end of the season, he got like 2 or 3 interceptions i think and one crucial one against the bills, id like to see him here but in reality i dont think we will anymore unfortuanatly

this is where you need to be corrected, yes hes got a high salary number yes hes getting older, no he does not have to start and yes he can be a factor in helping the younger players and no he has more then 1 int in the last 3 years considering he had two this year i believe....id like to see him retire as a fin, 3 years ago if someone told you this woudl happen you would of said, ok let him serve as a leader, teacher and back-up and let him retire as a fin because hes done many good things for us and im a fan of his....

No disrespect to Sam, I just don't think he's worth 6.3 mil at this point in his career. I appreciate what he's done for us, but this is a business, its NOT
personal.

but we only save 2.5 million not 6.3 million

Wow, I'm amazed at this point so many people are voting for Madison.

He's slowed down, he doesnt have the playmaking ability, he's not a very good zone defender, he's not very good against the run, and he has a high cap figure.

Buh bye.

I'd keep him. He's still worth the money unlike Howard. Plus, it's nice to have a veteran at that spot while the newcomers develop.

he doesnt have to start, we have daniels and poole and we can ask him for a pay cut, if he doesnt accept THEN you get to buisness and get rid of him

I think it's time to move on at the corner position. I love what Sam did through his career, but he doesn't excel in Saban's system, and it's time to get younger at that position.

Hes already said he wont take a pay cut

I stand corrected, Sam did have 2 INTs last year.
But I do not think anyone should pay a back-up ( your words, not mine)
6.3 mil.

said it right here, id rather have him then howard, and i always hoped surtain and madison could retire as fins but now that surtain is elsewhere id really like to see at leadt madison retire as one, not many people who play for one organization there whole NFL career these days.......i feel the same for Thomas and Taylor and a i have a good feeling chambers will be the same way and maybe Mcmike...just guys you grow acustom to and expect to be our team leaders and have good years and play the hardest because they want to win the most...and you notice its mostly the guys who are drafted in the later rounds, not these high marketable flashy high first round draft pick guys....gotta love the underdogs

My point exactly!

not exactly but close, if he accepts the pay cut then keep him, even if he is back-up, id say keep him in a heartbeat......but i dont think i said what i meant on if he doesnt accept and i apologize..of he doesnt i still might tkwae a risk with it, if that happened then id be about 50-50 on it, i owuldnt get rid of him like that, hes to much to the organization
