Between these two, it has to be Flynn in my opinion. I understand it that people would say Smith has more experience, but I think we have seen his ceiling already this past season. His previous years as starter were underwhelming to say the least. Flynn on the otherhand, although he is only two starts under his belt, has shown flashes of great potential, knows the system and has a lot more upside than Smith.
In an ideal world, picking them both up on reasonable contracts and having them fight it out for the starting job with Moore (or Tannehill?) would be the way to go. However, I do not see Flynn or Smith being overly happy about that, as I can see them both expecting to be starters from day one wherever they land (or at least be paid starter money).
Let's hope Ross/Ireland don't f*** it up and we end up with nothing.
