poll trade our 2006 first round pick for?

it is going to take a one to get rivers to miami brees should be a free agent but you never know sd may sign and trade him to get vaule or place the franchise bull**** tag on him.

Why not just keep the 1st rounder and draft our Franchise QB?

If the Chargers try the tag route, they'd better be prepared to be stuck with both QBs and with a ton of their cap tied up.

If they tag Brees and still wanted to trade him they could have a reasonable expectation for trading him. Buffalo had no problems trading Peerless the same way. They might not get a first for Brees, or maybe just a low first rounder, but they'll still get something.

It's the same thing Miami will do next year with Randy McMichael.

The difference is the stakes. The tag on a TE is reasonable. The tag on a QB is prohibitive, which is one big reason why the Seahawks were apparently willing to let MH walk if it came down to it. The WR number on Price wasn't bad, so the Bills got away with it. The league seems to have taken notice at the lack of results out of that trade for the Falcons since then, though -- what deal like that have you seen go through since?
