I think if Sean Peyton comes available of any well established coach come available then it's a wrap for Dan. The determining factor is going be is of Steven Ross gives the coach more say so over personnel. I think Dan should be given a string consideration for the job. People would argue that he is 4-4 well thats with someone else's system, personnel in place. Remember he had to fire the DC and the OC from the last regime

He must bench Tannehill. That's just tooooo obvious.

IMO he will never get the job, well if he gets the team deep in the playoffs then yes they will hire him, the chances of that happening is less than 1%....Not that I think he has done a bad job, I think the fans will not accept it, it won't spur season ticket sales, the owner needs to get this right with a name that has had success before....Ross has to have something to dupe us into thinking this season will be the season we get to playoffs....he and the front office can't admit the player acquisitions over the last 3 yrs was terrible, they won't be able to make huge changes in personnel so they will sell us that the players we have just need to be coached up and we will buy it.....

If it were up to Ross and maybe Hickey (lol, yeah right) he could have a chance with an 8-8 record or better. But Tannenbaum won't allow it. He'll want to bring in his guy, and this is his once chance to do it.

IF we finish 9-7, it'll be interesting to see how we handle Campbell. The players will most likely want him to stay, so it could get tricky if/when we decide to go in a different direction.

Well, he'd probably have to murder every viable option at this point to be considered for the job.

I don't feel like he would be able to assemble a competent enough staff for it to work out. Having a head coach with an extended coaching tree would be a plus. Then we wouldn't have to have Mike Sherman's son-in-law anywhere near the QB.

Anybody know about the connections for Hue Jackson, Todd Haley and Sean Payton? I'd say those are the three most interesting prospects

As much as I want a proven head coach, I think Dan deserves his chance. He inherit a mess. He made two good moves so far by firing Coyle and Lazor. Sometimes, it takes time. Look at Ron Rivera, there were rumors of him getting fired last year and look now! I'd like Payton but to get him, Dan has to be fired first and there no garanty that Payton will come here. To me, finish the season strong and he has my vote.

Todd Haley and Payton were together for at least a year during Parcells tenure in Dallas. Haley was the WR coach IIRC and Payton was the assistant HC.

The real question would be ... If somehow Dan Campbell were to be the head coach . Who would be the OC ?

Who would be the DC ?

If the answer to both/either of those questions is already in our building . Dan can grab his things and go .

No thanks to Campbell as head coach beyond this year.

He gets way too much credit on here for doing a whole bunch of nothing.

He'll finish 8-8 this year at best which means he went 7-5 for the year. If life was fair he'd be given a chance to continue as coach but I don't think that's what is going to occur.
