What do you think we'll get for Surtain, if we trade him at all this year?

second pick and maybe one later pick like a 4th or 5th somebody with low draft picks will see it through
 
A while ago I would have said a second plus a later draft pick. Now I would be happy with just a second.
 
If Nick trades him....

A 2nd round selection this year OR a 4th round selection this year and 2nd in 2006.

If Rick trades him....

The last option can't happen, if we don't trade him this year hes a FA, unless they decided to franchise him.

Let's traslate into price, he's worth that 2th round draft pic Miami wants, he's worth the pay he wants (above 10 M), and he's worth the bonus sign he deserves (another 10 M).

But nobody is willing to pay all that for him.

At least not now. KC was willing to pay it, but not in this year draft (they don't have this year 3th round), maybe will get next year's 2th/3rd.

Also with Ty Law in the market and the quality of CB in the draft there's no clear reason for them to get Surtain.

Wait until draft day or after.
 
The best we can do right now is to just trade Surtain for a second rounder.

Rick is not that blinded, he'll get at least a Lays pack in the mix.:roflmao:
 
It looks more like IF Surtain is traded it's after the draft...

Teams will see what they get in the draft and if they didn't feel like they filled there need in DB... Surtain tyalks will heat up again... of course the price will most likely be more expensive becuz it will be for a 06 pick
 
I would be happy with a 7th if that's all we can get. We can't afford to pay more than 6 million for an overrated cornerback. The Patriots lost Ty Law last year and it didn't hurt their Super Bowl run. If we can't get a 7th, I say release him.
