How can you vote on whether or not you want a player on your favorite team to succeed if you already know he's a failure?
Some truly want him to fail largely because he is from Michigan - secondly so they can prove their right and smarter than the FO

I want Henne to succeed but he won't in my opinion. He sucks. What does that prove? You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks he sucks will want him to fail. The Phins are only as good as their weakest link and right now that is QB play.
Actually, the only point made here is that just about everyone on the board here wants the team to win and will root for the team (QB name doesn't matter). Doesn't mean that everyone supports Henne being the Phins starting QB (which I'm not sure we have any other options at this point), but that's the way it is for now. Will I support my team including it's incapable QB? Of course I will. Do I think he'll likely succeed this year? Probably not. But the two things are completely different.

While we're living in fairytale world, why don't we just add the following option:
Succeed - I expect him to turn into the next Dan Marino
Succeed - I expect him to turn into the next Dan Marino
Kudos to the 2 voters who at least were truthful and not hypocritical.. not so much the convenient deflections . To me it boils down to when he's under center - will you root for him to be successful? Not do you want him under center, or do you think he'll be successful when under center! That's not an unreasonable question. I'll admit that the underlying premise is if you're not rooting for him to succeed when he's on the field, you're not rooting for the fins, period!

Henne does suck. I still am not gonna root for a Dolphin to fail. But it's pretty inevitable for Mr. Hennebot. If he mysteriously became a franchise QB tomorrow I'd be thrilled. But we all know he won't. Even those of you who want to give him more time know it deep down.
I'm confused as to how those who voted that they will support/root for Henne while he is on the field as QB, but yet feel that he's not the answer for us at QB as being hypocritical? The two arguments aren't covering the same point. Do we support the team and root for them to win regardless of who is out there? Yes. Do many people have issues, questions or even in some cases distaste for some of the players? Yes. That isn't being hypocritical, that's being a fan with honesty. Wanting them to succeed and expecting them to succeed are two very different things. Vaark, you know better than to paint with such a broad brush like that.

This is just not true. Everyone wants him to succeed as it would be the best thing for the Dolphins. Everyone will cheer for him if he is in the game...........but most know that he sucks and will never be good. Most want him gone so that we can get a real QB. We want him gone but we will still be forced to cheer for him if he plays.

Who wants a dolphin to fail? We gave him a chance when he was thrust into the spotlight when pennington went down a few seasons ago. I think all of us dolfans give ALL of our players a fairshot, cheer them on & support them when they're worthy of it.
I love our fan base although many are embarrased by us (lol), I love the honesty from our crowd, if you give us crap on the field we'll give you crap from the sidelines cry me a river. If you give us a reason to cheer we'll cheer if not BOOHOOOOO.
If Chad does good he'll get the praises and support he deserves and likewise if he does bad, he'll be run out of town ........this isn't the place for political correctness from the fans this is a place to put up or get shipped out.

Points taken, however there are plenty of threads and polls to communicate your displeasure and that's fine; hell you can hate the guy as many around here actually do. Your subjective and/or emotional opinions of him are very valid and certainly your right... but not germane to this question. It's simple and boils down to will you actively root against him to succeed when he's on the field - not do you want him to be on the field. We both know that not everyone does or will, some for what they think are noble motives. Let's see if they have the guts to admit it. But when the rubber meets the road when he's under center, if you're not rooting for him to succeed, essentially you're rooting for the team to fail. That's a pretty simple premise and if it's the way you feel, it's your prerogative. Just say so.
