Will You Root For Chad Henne To Succeed Or Fail?

I think we both know that's not true Ted - despite the PC lip service paid.

What makes you say that Vaark? I think it would be very rare to find someone who wants their own team to fail to be "right." People who come to this forum especially, dedicate so much of their time to the Fins that it's just completely illogical to think that.

People deal with the situation in their own way. Some people put blind faith that he's gonna turn some corner. Some people like myself, laugh and mock C-bot and the situation the Dolphins put themselves in in general. That's just how I deal with my disdain towards this FO's endless blunders, ESPECIALLY at that position.

At the end of the day, The Dolphins piss me off. But it's the team I've chosen to love and be a fan of. I do not have much faith in them but I am faithful to them.

Hell I must of said "**** the Dolphins" after a game more times then I can count. I cheer for players and I curse them out on TV. Maybe YOU, or others think it's like sacrilege to say "**** the Dolphins," but that is my relationship to the team, love/hate/love, deal with it.

Will i be rooting for Henne to succeed? Absolutely.

Will i be expecting Henne to succeed? Totally different question.

I seriously doubt that anyone would complain if Henne turned the corner and finally became a franchise quarterback, even those that have been speaking out against him(guilty as charged here). But some of us simply follow the logic of: "he didn't improve 2 years ago, he didn't improve a year ago, he didnt show improvement last friday...what should i expect from him this upcoming week".

Personally, ive been in favor of starting him since the day after the draft. Admittedly, its because i feel this coaching staff screwed the pooch and should be forced to ride or die on their previously chosen savior.

Points taken, however there are plenty of threads and polls to communicate your displeasure and that's fine; hell you can hate the guy as many around here actually do. Your subjective and/or emotional opinions of him are very valid and certainly your right... but not germane to this question. It's simple and boils down to will you actively root against him to succeed when he's on the field - not do you want him to be on the field. We both know that not everyone does or will, some for what they think are noble motives. Let's see if they have the guts to admit it. But when the rubber meets the road when he's under center, if you're not rooting for him to succeed, essentially you're rooting for the team to fail. That's a pretty simple premise and if it's the way you feel, it's your prerogative. Just say so.

Got it. I agree with your underlying point. I also am one of those that would love to be wrong about him and would gladly eat crow if he becomes even serviceable enough at QB to get us to the playoffs and hopefully SB. In the end, I think we all want them at the same place. But to your point, some are just being more extreme than others about current state of team and players.

I doubt there is 1 single person on finheaven that will not be cheering for him on game day if he is playing. No offense to you Vark as I respect your opinion but your question is just misleading and none of the answers are good ones. You are forcing us to vote but not giving us the best answers. This is the correct answer.......I will cheer for Henne if he is on the field because I am a Dolphins fan but I do not expect him to succeed and would rather be cheering for a good QB that we sign or draft

I bet the fins FO uses similar polls to make personnel decisions. At least thats what it seems like...

In turn I respect your opinion but obviously don't agree. IMO this is a fairer, more direct poll that some of the recent ones that assume a negative response as fact going in like: "What week do you think Henne will be replaced" etc. Don't you agree?

And I do think there are some who are so invested in their hate for Henne (valid or not) that any on field deviation from that they feel will impugn their credibility and reps as "savants." And you know that's true. The question is, do they have the gumption to admit it. As in life, we all want to ascribe the most noble motives to everyone as fellow fans on FH.. but while most everyone will feel foolish if they don't "talk the talk" we both know they're not "walking the walk"

I did not vote since I think this poll is tilted beyond belief. I will say however, that I am hoping this thread will be a mute point, because IMO Henne will be benched at some point this season. That is not to say I am rooting for him to fail, but rather just being realistic in his skill set and potential going forward.

We are all major Dolphin fans and will be cheering for them no matter who is on the field. As your poll has shown, pretty much everyone will be cheering for him during the game. In fact I bet my own a$$ that even the couple of people who voted fail will still be cheering for him on game day and I think they are full of it. Most of us just really wish that we did not have to cheer for him and could cheer for someone worth a crap.

Agree with Mega. Hell, I took crap for being a Dolphins fan back in the 90s, and that was when this team had some respect. I was at every home game of the atrocious 1-15 season. I'll be cheering for them no matter how much they blow. That doesn't mean I don't want Henne gone from the team. I just know he's garbage and we'll never win a Superbowl with him as QB.

:rotfl1::applaudit::hsmash: Cbot lol

So did Cbot upgrade this year to 3.0?
Cbot modification "look off receiver" updated?

I voted for the 2nd answer, although I took the liberty to re-state it in my mind to read.

Succeed - Even though he sucks, until he is replaced.

I don't think Henne will succeed at QB for the Dolphins, but I am rooting for all Dolphin players to succeed.

The problem I have with this poll is that it is sort of misleading. Which many have already talked about, so no need for me to chime in on that aspect.

I understand the point you are trying to Make Vaark, however this is directed the wrong way.

The only people who would be "hypocritical" as you proclaim would be the "such for luck" crew. That's it. Not the bashers and haters of Henne. The only ones that are rooting for this team to fail are the ones wanting Luck.

Even then they have an opinion or idea that by failing it will set us up for success long term by getting Luck.

So it is not fair to call people hypocritical and get the underlying point you are trying to in this thread. Nobody that is a fan truly wants this team to fail, not even the "suck for Luck" people. Theirs is more a to move forward you have to take a step back approach.

Chad Henne has already failed. This poll is 1 year too late. I guess his failure last year wasnt convincing enough for some people.

Bottom line... if you performed your job as poorly as CH performed his... you'd be gone... done. In fact... the guy has never "won" the job to begin with....

Am I going to root for CH... no.

Am I going to root for the Dolphins... yes.
