How does one make a poll for a thread?

I wrote a post that I wanted to preview a poll for. I actually wasn't done with the post when I hit the make poll option (I didn't realize that this automatically posted the thread... :ooops:) and then I tried to preview the poll and it said I had to wait 10 minutes to post a poll, and seem to have lost the work on the poll.

So in addition to being an idiot, I look like one too! (a fact I try to hide often).

What do I do to improve the situation?

I'm not sure how you would improve on the idiot situation (j/k lol) When you start a new thread, write what you normally would, then scroll down and make sure "Post a poll" is checked. if you know how many options you'd like before hand of course change that number. after that, click submit new thread.

When the screen refreshes you'll be given the options to edit your poll.

I did check that option, and even worked out a whole poll! Maybe I am totally hallucinating, but is there a preview poll option? because I tried to preview my work and it just disappeared.

I'm not sure you can use the preview option on a poll. just make one and if you need to edit it just edit the options. :up:
