Pompei's Cpep article

I don't blame him. He seems focused on getting past the injury and his subpar play last year before the injury. I think too many players agree to those cover stories, I think it can be a distraction.

Saban may have alot to do with his silence.

Even in his current state, Culpepper is the Dolphins' most mobile quarterback maybe in decades.

I don't know about that. Love him or hate him but Jay Fielder was a pretty decent scrambler.

I respect him for avoiding the media, especially the local sports media here in Miami.

It seems like the Dolphin's website airs all the interviews that the players do complete & uncut. It makes the media & all of their negative BS kind of superfluous...

The Dolphins website gives the "party line" -- positive, upbeat "news" about the team. In other words, it tells you what you want to hear. The "negative BS" is the stuff you just don't want to hear, whether it's true or not.

I think that's the issue. He did get burned in Minnesota, not just the Love Boat scandal but also he got burned by media projecting him to be this guy that thinks he's bigger than the team...talking about how he is asking for more money and etc...selfish, won't work out or rehab with the team, etc.

So now he's silent, makes a few funny-sounding press statements here and there ("I'm officially announcing that the halftime of my career is over")...and for the most part is getting into the team first, to establish success, and let the success do the talking.
