If it is not painfully obvious what happens to a team that makes poor personnel decisions it should be quite obvious now. The decisions made by the previous administration will haunt this team for some time now. It will likely impact the team for a minimum of 3 to 5 years, but I seriously hope I am wrong. The Feeley, Ogunleye, Gordon, and Vernon Carey decisions have set the team back terribly, although I think Carey will be a good player. Add poor drafting and bad coaching over a 4 to 5 year span and you have the 2004 and 2005 Miami Dolphins. No offense to the present roster, but a mixture of incompetent decisions.

Carey is starting right... so i dont see this as bust by no means.
Ogunleye--i thought we got a fair deal out of the trade. Booker & Crowder..ill take that.
Gordon for a 3rd round... bad deal we made.. but dont think it set us back.
Feely-- we lost a 2nd round pick...a gamble that didnt pay off.

Carey is starting but remember we also surendered a 4th to move up 1 spot... that hurt.

Ogun - Was a good deal in my opnion with all things considered.

Gordon - Desperation move, we got hosed.

Feeley - Was a gamble but, the Eagles were asking for a 3rd rounder, we didn't have a 3rd that year, and out of arrogance and desperation Rick gave them our second, not knowing we would go 4-12.

Carey may develop into a better player...

And I give you the comments on Ogunleye, but I believe it is more Booker and Gordon than Booker and Crowder (regardless of the actual 3rd round position). Gordon was that extra third round pick that basically was a wash. So I would say Crowder was more a pick to itself. Booker is not a bad player, but is he worth more than Ogunleye. No. That is advantage Chicago. I understand the reasons the trade was made, but I am looking at pure value. Miami gave up a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, Feeley & Ogunleye for Gordon, Feeley, lemon, and Booker. You tell me how even that is? Gordon and Feeley are not on the team anymore. Final pay-off - a third string qb and a #2 wr for a qb, starting de, and 4 high picks (3 high). I just see gamble there all the way, sprinkled with desperation.

I think that Wannstedt's biggest problem in Miami was his biggest problem in Chicago: Bad personnel decisions. It will take a few seasons to recover from that.
