Any Martz offence leads in sacks allowed.. All the passes for the most part are a 7 step drop! With Gore prolly out.. we should be fine if we put up some point :woot:

31st ranked offensive line allowing a sack every 11 drop backs spells a big day for JOEY

If he gets 2 sacks he'd tie the team record of 18.5 correct? Is that the team record, i'm assuming it is, Jason Taylor holds it?

Uh . .. you fins fans are forgetting that we have a completely different qb from the one who idiotically held onto the ball and took sacks like they were going out of style. Also our O-line play has improved a lot, just watch the Jets game (they have more sacks than you guys), also watch what we did with Ware who is at least the equivalent of Joey Porter if not better.

I'm hoping for another 2 for Joey - he needs 2 per game from here on out to tie Strahan's sack record of 22.5. Of course, it'd be great if he had even more than two on Sunday. :D

That being said, I predict he'll finish the season with 19.5, breaking our franchise record but unfortunately coming up short for the single season sack record. Hope I'm wrong...

The 49ers are third in allowing sacks with 45, so I think Porter could defitnetly atleast get 1 or 2 especially with the emergence of Anderson. The fact that they have no Gore can help aquire some sacks as well.

is not gonna be easy for Porter to get a lot of sacks...they're planing for him but if that opens up stuff for other guys like Anderson and maybe Roth and Vonnie then great...the main thing is that we need to put pressure on the QB to help out the secondary.

Ozzy rules!!

Just make sure you come back to take your well deserved lumps after all is said and done and I promise you, I'll do the same. :)

1) O-line's do NOT improve overnight. In the 9ers case, dat be 3+ games. Talent level has NOT made a miraculous turn-around of any sorts.

2) O'Sullivan or whomever is still just a rook. Whomever, will be silenced.

3) No Gore? ... NO SOUP FOR YOU!

4) MINUS 12 in give-aways, does NOT just go away. It gets worse.

5) Time to wake up and smell the turf of Dolphins stadium. :D

...Sack totals have plummeted since Shaun Hill's insertion at quarterback, but that might have more to do with Staley than Hill. Hill still goes back into a seven-step as much as J.T. O'Sullivan did, but typically he doesn't get much heat from the left side. About the same time Hill was named the starter, Staley changed up his pass-protecting tactics.
Staley likes to attack the pass rusher, and get his hands on him quickly so he can control him. Most tackles don't have the athleticism to do that, but Staley is a rare athlete. Staley didn't do it last year as a rookie right tackle.
"Being a rookie, I just wanted to do what the coaches were telling me," Staley said. But with a year of seasoning, Staley told coaches he wanted to try it and so far, it's work well for him. Staley said he hasn't given up a sack since before the second Arizona game.
His duel with Porter might be the match-up to watch on Sunday....
