O-line pass blocking: a bit below average, not horrible, but definitely not great

O-Line run blocking: Well above average, probably elite

QB- Completely unknown at this point, besides knowing we have an average NFL starter who is hurt AGAIN (penny)

WR- horrible, probably bottom 3-5 in league... Bess is probably the best we have (wow....), Ginn has potential but still has not got it together completely, and I'm not hating on him but compared to other NFL teams we are completely horrible in the WR department at this point

RB - above average, ronnie and ricky would both start on many teams.

TE - Below average after losing David Martin who was our best receiving tight end...

FB- Can you even call Lou Polite average? I say no, below average by NFL standards.

~~~Defense~~~
D-Line run defense: Elite
D-Line pass rush: slightly Above average
LB (all positions) - Below average.. Porter is our best LB... best tackler, best pass rusher, probably even our best cover LB.... ayodele and crowder are horrible to put it nicely.
Corner - average at this point, with potential to be above average or even elite if both vontae and sean keep progressing.
SS - horrible.. maybe potential to be below average instead of horrible...
FS- horrible, bottom 5 in league.
overall our team still needs help at a lot of positions, but the lines on both sides of the ball are pretty solid. We can compete with any team in the league, and overall ranking we are definitely in the top 20-22. (there are easily 10 teams that are worse than us)
anyone disagree/agree?
I really like both sides of our line and I think it's obviously a staple of parcells' ran teams to have big strong lines.... we desperately need help at WR, safety, LB and we need to see who's gonna be the QB for the next 8-10 years.. I like Henne's attitude so far, he knows he's gonna make some mistakes, but still seems like a good leader (after he gave up the pick 6 he was straight back to the sideline talking to the coaches and trying to learn, it didn't even really seem to bother him) and I know he has a big arm.. I think he could be the future at QB
Agree on safety play - Bell should've been allowed to hit the FA market and Wilson is awful. I miss Renaldo Hill!
O-line pass blocking = below average
you're probably right about that, I guess I was giving them too much credit in that department, especially after baltimore just completely embarrassed them in last years playoff game,
im changing it because you are correct it is below average by NFL standards
Porter is a great pass rusher but i horrible in coverage and teams run right at him because he is not good against run
Agree with your general eval. of most positions. I think our o-line is a little tougher than you're giving them credit for, but otherwise I have no real argument.
Above, regarding the LBs, I agree 100%. Our linebackers do NOT play smart, do no tackle well and cannot cover the pass, drop back into zone coverage or read backs out of the backfield for love or money.
Where the O line really was horrible was at blitz pickup.
this just plain isn't true.. porter is fine in pass coverage and even has quite a few interceptions in his career.. a lot for a linebacker. the reason we don't see him in pass coverage is only because he is such a good pass rusher that he basically rushes the QB every play he's in...
and teams run right at him? what on earth are you talking about man no team has even ran on us at all this year...
Im talking about in general and no Porter is not good in coverage at this point in his career. If thats the criteria then Crowder is good against the run at the very least since as u say no team has ran on us.
