In next years draft we should get a

QB: Thats a given
LT or C: Assuming whoever wins the LT job is a POS,and if Seth cant get the job done. we will keep him if not w
WR: If Boston performs well we will keep him if not we will probably drafta wide out.
DT: Hopefully we will get Wright this year, and then we could get another good DT.
SS or FS: we could use some good young guys in the secondary.
K: Maybe could be better than Mare?

*I did not put these in order of the draft picks that we have (Well we can always use a 7th for a kicker.) Also who could we get to fill this positions? And what positions do you think we should adress?

Its tough to tell right now but I would think QB would be our top priority if we dont get a decent year from AJ.Then I would think DT would be a top priority. There are some great ones coming out.

I would have included LT and C but Houck seems to among those who thinks you dont need to spend high picks for those guys.

I don't like Aj, but he's still a question mark, so it's not a given. I think a QB will be the number 1 priority, but bringing in a left handed Qb would eliminate the need for a Lt. Nobody knows what will happen so all these assumed needs are a bit premature IMO.

how about we wait until the offseason to bring up this subject

LT or DT will be our best bet in the first round. There just aren't enough good QBs at this point, but that could change. Either Miami's Eric Winston or Michigan's Gabriel Watson would fill in one hole on our team. We also need a #2 corner to play along Madison. Poole is not a sure thing even though hopes are high for him. Madison isn't getting any younger so even if Poole turns out to be a pro-bowler we still need one more corner. If Travis Daniels doesn't move to safety AND he turns out to be starter caliber (two VERY big ifs) that would solve the problem. But that is speculative at this point. QB will likely be another priority to be addressed in rounds 2-3. Unless AJ shocks the NFL and has a breakout season this year, the Dolphins need an upgrade at QB. The days when Miami's pass offense struck fear into the hearts of DC's around the league are a distant memory. Leinhart will be gone before we can take him and I'm not sure that is a bad thing. The talent around him and the system he plays in is SO good that I wonder how much is the system and how much is Leinhart. We should be looking for 2006's Jason Campbell, someone who emerges from relative obscurity and is available in the second round. I'm just excited about this year's team; great draft and solid free agency pickups (Schulters would be the icing on the cake). D$@ I wish the season were here already!

In the first round I want us to target QB, LT, DL, CB. Those are the key positions as far as need and impact on a team. If AJ and Carey work out, than its either CB or DT/DE.

Later in the draft I would like to see us get SS/FS, OG/OC and LB.

It all really depends right now. We have no idea who will step up, who will get injuried, who will disappoint, who will demand a new contract, etc...

Some people may criticize me for putting CB as a first round need, but with that position, it is always good to think ahead, as Madison is getting old and we have question marks on the other side. Its better to get a young guy in, work him in slowly his first year, and than let an expensive vet like Madison move on. That almost worked out for us with Poole this year. A team that did this to perfection is the Eagles. They had Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor, both aging and yet very good CBs, and used a first and second round pick on S. Brown and Lito Sheppard. They let vincent and taylor go, after those young CBs sat the bench in year one, and now have a solid pair of CBs for the next 6 or more years. Great move on their part.

Right now though, I put QB as number 1 need, LT as number 2, DT number 3, and CB as number 4. Every other position can be filled with later round picks and vet pick ups. SS/FS, OC/OG, depth players, etc. Those positions dont hold the same value as QB, LT, DL, CB.

no it wouldn't...all it means is that he will see him comin' now

None of this is a given until the results of this year is played out. Right now, I don't know what our needs will be, except maybe DT...that's the only position I know we need some young blood at.

DT
Safety
Those are the glaring ones right now with no youth or current viable guys to fill in.

QB depends largely on how Feeley plays at this point. It could be a moot point.
LT also depends on the McIntosh/Carey battle and how well they do.

DT is the #1 priority though (I wouldn't waste the pick on Wright)

So with our first 3 picks next year it easily could be: LT, QB, DT in any order.

You never can tell this early, at this time last year we had entirly too many cornerbacks. One position for sure though is DT, this is probably Keith Traylors last year.

I'm comfortable forecasting that we'll likely see the same mix of O/D picks next year. I think Nick has embraced the concept of value drafting, so I really don't think it's going to be a matter of plugging holes. I do think the bulk of the young talent on this team is on offense and that Saban is only part of the way through casting this defense. If the offense looks terrible and the defense looks great, maybe we'll get to 3 offensive picks. I don't see it, though.

We need a reaaaaaaaaaaal quarterback.........not these sucka backups.......
