Positive review of FA OLB/DE Ben Ishola

Wow, the guy sounds like a real prospect.

Is he under contract, or just part of the camp invitees?

It seems like most (if not all) the guys Saban has got brought in via FA etc. have a legitimate chance to at least make development squad…

Someone on a different thread asked for some info on FA OLB/DE Ben Ishola:

In open field, Ben does display legit 4.5 game speed.

As an NFL OLB, Ben Ishola projects to better use his considerable raw speed in open field, to effectively edge rush and destroy smaller TEs and RB/FBs, and to develop better reads and instincts. Far from a traditional polished, ready-to-play-on-day-1 TFG Rec, Ben offers tremendous upside but is probably only ready to start for teams currently rebuilding. Nevertheless, it is hard to find 5 truly superior edge-rusher OLB prospects in this 2006 NFL Draft than Ben Ishola, who is still rated as undrafted on every board that even acknowledges his existence.

Cool. Sounds like a solid player. Maybe Capers can mold him into an edge rusher at this level. Could be one of those diamonds Saban has an eye for....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

ishola is a berlin native,i have had the chance to see him playing for the berlin adler a few years ago.in germany he was an impressive football player and difference maker and i hope that he can develop in an quality nfl LB/DE because he has some great talent
