positive thread...how good is chambers already?

Chambers is a circus freak on the field and is finally starting to realize that he does have to do it all himself out there. With Lucas starting, there aren't going to be passes thrown to him that are easy to catch. They're going to be thrown too hard, too low, too high, wobbly, or, worst of all, to the defender, and Chambers now realizes that he has to chase these friggin balls all over the field, and even out of the defenders hands, if he wants to make the catch.

God help the other team when Fiedler- who can actually throw with some accuracy and poise- gets in there and starts sending balls Chambers' way again. We could be in for big things from him.

You gotta remember that this season is totally different than last season for Chris Chambers.

1) He was the #3 WR. He came out of nowhere. Took the league by suprise. Now he's #1. The league had an entire offseason to adjust and get ready for him. He's being gameplanned for. And he's consistently facing the other teams' best CB.

2) He's in a new offense. Norv-ball and Chan-ball are two completely different beasts. Not only does he have to learn a new offense, but so does the rest of the team. So there's an adjustment period.

3) Because he's a starter, he now has to be able to run EVERY route against the #1 CB and not just the seams and comebacks he ran last year against a combination of #1,2,3 CBs. And that takes a lot of hard work. Just doesn't happen overnight.

4) Oronde Gadsden's injury. Now that OG is gone, Chris has to be the possession WR. Now his role has changed....again. And his YPC will drop significantly.

5) Jay Fiedler's injury. Now he has an inferior QB throwing to him. A QB who can't consistently find him. The defense has less to account for. And now his catch total drops.

Chambers will be a beast. I DO NOT think his talent will be wasted in Miami. I feel he'll be just fine.
