uh....
hmm...
*thinking*
give me a minute here...

1) AJ broke his streak and didn't throw and INT for a TD.
2) Leonard Henry the kid Miami released a week or so back rushed for more yards than all other Miami RB the last 2 games.
3) We seem to have lost only 1 starting player (Lamar Gordon) to injury.
4) Neither Madison nor McMichael balled out a fellow teammate. Rather Madison balled out a ref thus getting hit with an "unsportsmanlike" penalty allowing Pitts to score.
5) Once again Wyrick gave up the go ahead TD to Pitt but this time he was much closer to making a play than he was in the Cincy game where he blew the coverage.
6) AJ only threw 2 near INT right to defenders rather than his usual 4-5.
7) Matt Turk is going to make the probowl for sure.
8) Ogun our ex-probowl DE had 2 sacks-3 tackles-a forced fumble and a fumble recovery...the guys we traded him for had...1 catch for 8yds and 4 carries for 10yds...we clearly got the better end of the deal on that one.

Did I miss anything?

*sigh* sorry guys...I'm normally try to stay positive no matter what but this one was tough to swallow.

WIll poole is a stud....

Our oline did marginally better this game than before.
Henry looks good.
McMichael once again plays well

yea, I wonder where are all those "Ogun who?" posters, I watched that game and he is a force they actually had to have a back or TE helping the T out most of the game. Its going to be a long year.

Wow, someone was able to get positives out of this vomit-inducing performance, im impressed :)

The biggest positive of all: just 13 games to go before Wannstedt gets fired.

There are a lot of emotions swirling around and that's understandable. Positives I saw were the OL played a LOT better than they did last week. There wasn't any, if I remember correctly, blitzes that were successful through the middle of the line, everything was from around the outside of the tackles. There were some holes in the running game and most of the time they didn't have 2 - 3 tacklers in the backfield while handing off. So, the OL is looking up. Now, AJ made a couple dumb*** mistakes but there were some throws where the receivers HAVE to take responsibility for going after it. Chris was particularly disappointing along with Marty not being aggressive enough as well. Randy was Randy and that's always a good thing.

Now, make what you will of this game but it wasn't going to be pretty for the offense in any case due to the wet conditions. I think this offense is going to show a LOT of improvement in the upcoming Jets game (as long as it is dry!). The OL will continue to get better, AJ will be given a chance to throw, and they'll be able to digest more of the playbook; which I believe was part of the problem with playcalling last night. I believe by the 6th game this offense will actually be competitive. Granted, all may be lost at that point but what did you expect with an entirely *new* offense? 9 new players, and three new coaches with limited practice time due to weather conditions. They were bound to fail in the beginning but they're way too talented to not come together and get this thing going. You may not see it now but you watch, it will happen, just a matter of time.

we almost looked like a team in the 4th quarter 2 minute drill-----until Feeley was blindsided

Actually I thought the oline played a LOT better. Not saying they are anywhere close to a good line yet, but relatively to the cinci game they played much better.

I agree with Shawn, a few more weeks and this o may be pretty decent! IF we do lose the next few games (strong possibility) I say throw all the young O' guys in there. Let Carey learn, if they really like Hadnot, let him play... Develop a good team for next year.

Statistically we have a top 5 D.

Least passing yards against in the NFL. At least these guys are still showing up. Someone should invite the offense to join them on the field of battle.

Well, I'm not sure about giving up experience on the OL as that can get your QB killed. If it were other positions such as RB, WR, TE then I'd say yes, go ahead and play a prospect but not on the OL.

Basically, people need to keep things in perspective. The "reality" is that our offense is NOT any different than an expansion teams offense. Everyone is new and they're assessing and learning at the same time. Actually, our offense is a bit worse than that as they had question marks all the way up to the start of the season where as the expansion teams at least knew for the most part who their starters were and they practiced together through all of the preseason and training camps. We had WAY too many issues to deal with concerning injuries, the weather hindering practice time, questions at QB, the Ogun situation, and Ricky Williams retirement. A lot of people expected our offense to be good just because the talent was considered good. But the reality of the situation is that they need time to gel, to be on the same page as a unit. If one guy misses an assignment or runs the wrong route the whole play breaks down. They have to have confidence and conviction and that will only come with practice and/or experience.

Is this season lost? Yeah, I'm confident we will not make the playoffs but I'm also confident that near the end of the season we will be playing spoiler to some of the other teams who will have a shot.

Also, I'd like to add that the defense just needs to stfu and play! They have done nothing to warrant the whiny, bitchy attitudes they're displaying. They still have the moniker that they can't stop someone when it "really" mattters. They need to focus on their jobs and actually play "60" WHOLE minutes of the game and not just 45. They're like a bunch of friggin maligned children. They're playing in a professional league, they need to act like it!
