since people think I was being too negative early on and I want to be fair.
Special teams coverage was much, much better. The O-line did a fair job even with Smiley out. Ndukwe had a couple of penalties...but you have to be impressed by Long's grittyness. Goodman had a bead on that last pass like a cornerback should have. He has to get a game ball. Ricky ran real hard. Cobbs continues to show something and so does Polite for that matter. He'll get those few yards in a key situation. Carpenter was money on field goals. Bess is getting valuable experience for what may turn into an impressive career. Ginn looked impressive early and than faded, but at least made an impression. Pass coverage was pretty good minus that first drive...Joey Thomas probably shouldn't be in there but oh well. Run defense improved in the second half. You can say that Steven Jackson wore down, but I think they just adjusted. Offense probably should have more success, but losing Smiley puts you a trust situation. Do you want to expose Pennington for more than a few seconds.

Positives

OLine - Man I was impressed . . . Smiley out early, Jake on one leg . . . these guys stepped up and still did a solid job . . . especially in the running game. Jake Long deserves a game ball for the tuffness he displayed today on a bad ankle.

Goodman - They don't test this man . . . yea Randy crawled on his back last week to get a TD . . . but he has been a shut down CB for a few weeks now. Beautiful coverage on the pick at the end of the game.

Chad Pennington - 13/23 - 166 yards . . . looks so average on paper . . . but he kept plays alive when pressure got in . . . he didn't turn the ball over . . . still showing that passion u love from him . . . the team MVP continues to impress every week

Davone Bess - What a steal to get him as a UDFA . . he stepped in and he looks like a natural WR and he made some tremendous quality catches. He has found a home here in Miami.

Dan Carpenter - Now owns the NFL rookie record for consecutive made FG's. Yea I would love for him to kick it out the endzone sometimes . . . but it doesn't seem as important when the special teams does their job. Anyways congrats Dan . . . u have been a true bright spot for this team this year.

Special Teams - They have gotten better the last 2 weeks . . . I'm real impressed . . but they gotta start opening up some holes when we are returning . . . guys are down the field just wayyy to quick. But I will take their play from the past 2 weeks over the Oakland and Houston games. Keep improving guys.

Renaldo HIll/Akin Ayodele - both use tremendous instincts on their INT's . . . had to give them props for their turnovers.

Negatives:

I won't dwell to much on this, because we won the game but from what I saw:

Brandon Fields - Man u gotta get consistent . . . u can kick the freaking ball to South America sometimes but when we need u to boom one, u end up with like a 35 yard punt with no hangtime so the punt is returnable. Come on bro.

Our Defense up the middle - this is 2 weeks in a row where teams are gashing us up the middle. That **** ain't cool . . . nothing more demoralizing then watching a team run up the gut on u with success.

Lack of depth - Oline injuries . . . man losing Smiley today hurts . . . not good. We also didn't have Jason Allen at nickel . . . and this is after we lost Lehan for the year. I think we will be ok at WR . . . but after being relatively injury free . . . we are getting hit hard with injuries, and its very concerning . . . we can't afford anybody else to go down.

Overall, we are 7-5 . . . and we got a BIG TIME division game next week @ Buffalo in Toronto . . . lets get to 8-5 baby!!

Toooo many holding penalties.

Two pass interference penalties on the same drive.

I didn't see many positives except yes, the ST played better but consider who we were playing against.

Also that INT by ayodele was a thing of beauty. He had just bumped his man and dropped into coverage 1/10 of a second later and had enough agility to make the INT.

Bess/Carpenter definitely. Goodman is playing well.

The rest...ehh
