Jackie Posluszny admitted that her son's fourth-quarter injury in the FedEx Orange Bowl factored into the decision somewhat. But Nittany Lions fans can breathe a bit easier now, as Paul Posluszny will wear Blue and White in 2006.

"He plans on coming back," Jackie Posluszny said. "He still wanted to return and finish his schooling."

Posluszny told his family he'll return for his senior season and anchor the Lions defense.

Why does ND always seem to play Michigan, Michigan St., Purdue and others but there is hardly ever a Buckeye/Irish match-up? Any clue?

Not sure actually. As much as ND plays the Big 10 you'd think we'd get a few more ND v OSU matchups in there.

Alright this may sound pretty bad on my part, but as I am a pretty big Penn State fan, when Paul got injured, just a little part of me was a little happy just for the fact that he was going to come back anchor the LB corps and the defense.

Actually... I know why OSU and ND dont play each other.

Back in the day, (crap I cant remember the coaches names) but the OSU head coach and the ND head coach/athletic director were good friends. They didnt schedule each other because they didnt want the catholic part of Ohio to be divided. If OSU was recruiting a kid and if the kid was divided between OSU and another Big10 school and if OSU felt they might lose the kid, the OSU head coach would try to talk him into Notre Dame........

To this day, out of tradition, I dont believe they schedule each other. Aint that a pretty story. :D

I'm not going to lie, I was thinking the same thing. It seems like that if he finished the game healthy he would have left for the draft. But you could tell the way he stayed on the sideline in full uniform that he was not finished at Penn State, it just looked like he wasn't ready to finish his college career on the sideline, and I am glad to hear it is official now.

With Poz and BranDon back our team is going to be BEASTLY

I wouldn't go that far, with the exception of Poz, most of the defense will be gone and we will lose a good portion of the offensive line. And Morelli is still a major concern especially the fact that the offense will have to transition from a dual-threat quaterback to a pure pocket passer. On the bright side all the offensive skill guys are back besides Robinson, the entire linebacking core at linebacker u will return, and this is the second consecutive year that psu has picked up the number one rated cornerback coming out of high school.

I agree...we will likely take a step back next year...more of a transition year with Morelli getting comfortable with the offense. I just think Poz is a beast and BranDon is a BIGGER beast!!! Too bad both got hurt at the Orange Bowl.

Looks like a good move, with that injury and the large amount of LB's in this year's draft. If he heals well, Posluszny could go much higher next year.
