Possible DT for depth

There's three of us. I have been a Dolphin fan since 1970 in New York. But since coming to Cali in 1982 when I was in the Marine Corps, I have grown to be a Padre fan. When people see my car go down the road, and they se the white vinyl decals of the Padres on both sides, and then on the back of my car it has a big Miami Dolphin logo, along with SRV for the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn. They are probably saying how can he be a Padre fan, and be a Dolphin fan at the same time living in So. Cal? I will die a proud Dolphin Fan, and no one will ever take that away from me. It my biggest joy in life besides my wife and two dogs!:)

cool.....now if you were also a Lakers and Dallas Stars fan, like myself, you'd really be unique. :)

Sorry I used to follow basketball, and lost interest due to attitudes. Hockey I like to watch from time to time, but never fully got into.

Dudeman is from New Jersey, and that is along way to be a Padre fan. How did yourself, and Dudeman become Padre fans? By the way the dropped tonights game 4-3.

Well, my father was navy and with my parent divorced since I was 5, I would visit SD, from Texas, in the summers and every other christmas for a couple weeks.

So, my 1st pro baseball game was the padres. It was "goose honker" day at the murph. It was a promotion where they handed out these duck call things in support of Goose Gossage, who was relieving for them at the time. I was about 9 or 10 at the time. When Gossage came in the whole stadium erupted with all these damn high pitched duck calls. Very Very memorable. After that day I was hooked. Gwynn was a rookie that year and went 3-3. They became my favorite team and Gwynn became my favorite player that day.

It was the same way with the Phins....my 1st live pro football game...They were playing the Chargers and it was Dan's 1st year in the league. Boom, Marino threw for like 320 yrds and I was hooked. I've also, ALWAYS followed the Chargers. I loved watching Fouts and Winslow. That's why I was so jacked when Seau came to us. It was perfect. If it's possible, the Chargers are my second favorite pro football team. Like I said, i've always keep up to date on them and always thought they had the best uniforms and helmets 9even the poweder blues :).....One of the hardest footballs games I've ever watched was the playoff game between us and SD where they beat us. The fact I was upset Miami lost was just further proof Miami was my favorite yet if it's possible I was rooting for both teams that day..I was just more upset Miami lost than SD won. The next week of course I was glad SD was playing though..kinda odd

Lakers...same damn story...pops drove me up when I was 8 to watch a playoff game between the Lakers and Celtics...again..hooked. Magic was and IS my all-time favorite player. However, over the last 5-6 years I've gotten to where I only watch the playoffs. I just gotten tired of the way the NBA is run. I much prefer college basketball to the pro game.

The Stars, well, I kinda followed hockey when I was real young (mostly gretsky and the oilers) but living in Texas...I didn't get a lot of ice hockey exposer  . When the North Star moved to Dallas and became the Stars, I started learning the rules and going down to Dallas to watch games. While it still ranks below football and baseball as my favorite sports on the whole, watching a hockey game live (and very drunk sometimes) is one of the most fun experiences you can have in live sports. Baseball is still my favorite live event (because I treat it like a true "event") but hockey has moved very close to football live for me. It sounds bad but I've gotten to where live football gets frustrating for me. Yes, I still love it but sometimes fellow football fans can get annoying (also, the only time I get to see live games is when the Phins come to play Dallas...and dallas fans are a pain in the ***)...that may be why I find it annoying going to the games....the cowboy fans.

wow, that was a LOT longer than I expected....sorry folks for going so off topic of the thread.

Signing Darrell Russell would be up there with embarrassing acquisitions such as Lawrence Phillips and Cecil Collins.

it's a shame because he was a great talent...

I'd rather keep Wright, Vickerson and Shaw around.
