Possible FS?

He is 5-11, 30 years old.

He made 67 tackles and 3 interceptions last year but I don't think he is a Bill type player. This team needs to get younger and him being at 30 doesn't help this cause.
 
Nice stop gap. He could have 4-5 years left in him IMO. Bring him in and get him some competition and see what happens.
 
we have a starting FS....Jason Allen, you know the 1st rounder (#16) a few years ago. he is our FS. we need a SS cuz i guess bell is not coming back

J Allen showed some huge leaps last year at free safety and I think he might find himself with the starting Job. McCree would want to start and I would only want him as a backup. He would only hinder his growth.

Are you talking about the Allen from last year or his Rookie year? Allen showed that he could be a pro-bowl caliber safety last year. He made plays and forced turn overs. The Allen I saw from last year wasn't afraid to make a tackle and wrapped up rather well. He didn't look lost when he got his chance to shine last year.

I would bring him in for one year. He could be a good backup. I think he would be willing to take the backup role especially with our injuries.

I think he would make a GREAT backup, but I just don't think he would want to be one. We had a lot of problems with injuries in the secondary last year, that is true, but McCree would want to start. Why would he want to down grade to backup after starting 16 of 16 games last year. I don't see it happing (though I would love it if it did happen :up:)

All these FS options being tossed around...I am guessing people around here see Jason Allen as our SS instead of the FS he played last season? Bell is the one leaving and in need of replacement...and he played SS, not FS. So I'm a little confused on this.
 
Thats what I'm trying to figure out MrEd. I wouldn't mind McCree as a backup but we need a solid SS. I don't remember but do we still have Bell or is he another Bill casualty :).
