Its pretty safe to say that no candidate is going to come out of nowhere and win all of us over. So we've gotten down to a pretty narrow and sad list. Noone to get excited over and noone to really hope for.
I saw Steve Marriucci mentioned as a possible suitor for the Chargers job if Marty got send packing. I just wondered what everyone thought about him possibly fitting in here ... for now. He does have a decent offensive mind.
He had success in San Fran. but little to none in Detriot, but that was, after all, in Detriot and he had little to no talent to work with.

Also when Mike Shula got mentioned as a major candidate, some people got excited because it meant the Dolphins where doing some things underneath the attention of the media for a little while, during a time where the coaching search seemed like a nationwide thing with everyone tracking his planes across the country (profootballtalk.com). So its possible they couldve talked to him by now and even interviewed him, maybe waiting to see if he could be considered a real candidate before going public.
Personally, I'm intrigued by the idea of Mooch. I think he would fit in pretty good, he has said he is interested in a return to pro coaching. And I think Miami needs a coach looking to prove himself.
Anyways I'm just trying to float a thought out there. Like i said, shoot it down, but dont shoot at me. Just a thought and most of you are too on edge because we're a franchise with no coach and no bright candidate to look forward to.

Mooch is a nice guy. But he's had his shot. Let's give it to someone who is hungrier. Cam or Mike.

Cam was my first choice from the begining. we need to get cam and fire mularky. promote garrett to OC and there you go

By now we know Marty will keep as Changers' Head Coach.
I'm with you that our team needs a coach looking to prove himself, but I feel Mike Shula is not in that level. He can encourage the players to give the best on certain plays, he may guide a unit into a scheme, but his abilities to find the exact mix of players and to select plays at the important moments were the reason that the Crimson Tide have waived him. He fits more as Offensive Coordinator than Head Coach, so the best for everyone should be to remove Murlakey and enroll Shula as Offensive Coordinator.

Mooch isn't a bad idea. The whole argument for "Let's get a new guy who's hungrier" is absurd. If you look at the successful coaches around the NFL, some of them are in their first stint, some in their second, third, etc. For example, the two teams left in the AFC (and are perennially there) have Dungy and Belichick in their second stint. Then on the NFC side, you have Lovie and Payton both in their first stint, so there's really no advantage either way. It's just luck of the draw.

In that regard, I wouldn't mind Mooch at all because he did have success offensively in SF.
