Now, let me start by saying.........I love the guy and hes my favorite current 'phin but.....Jason Taylor has given this franchise nothing but his best and is in my opinion one of the classiest players in the game. I think we owe it to him, if he wants to moved to a Contender, to let him go. Miami is in a all-out rebuilding mode and we need to look the future. Now, obviously the "should we trade JT" thing is nothing new, but I've seen all the threads with trade possibilities involving JT and it seems nobody is mentioning something I see as a possibility......Keep in mind this is hypothetical, but its sounds real interesting to me and since I haven't seen it here or anywhere else(please tell me if someone has) I thought I would mention it.....
I heard that the Eagles were very interested in putting together some type of trade for Jared Allen before he went to the Vikes, but that KC was asking for more than they were willing to let go. Philly lost Kearse last season and had a terrible pass rush all year..... obviously this was the reason they were interested in Allen- they need an upgrade at DE. Now, its obvious that Lito Sheppard won't be an Eagle after Saturday now that they signed Samuel to that ridiculous deal, and CB is one of Miami's major needs. If the fins were to offer JT (age 33) for Sheppard (age 27) straight up, with maybe a late round throw in, do you think we should take it? Do you think this scenario is even a possibility? We don't lose a pick but, we also don't gain one. The key here is, we solve the CB issue and still keep both 2nd round picks to fill other needs. I know Lito has had injury problems (kinda) lately, but hes still young at 27, is a two time Pro Bowler and is just one year removed from his last Pro Bowl season. I don't think the phins would settle for anything less than a late 1st/early second for Taylor anyway, but in this case, everyone keeps their picks and still get what they want. With all the needs we have, and with the possibility of filling one of those needs with a big time player and not losing a major pick in the process, sounds pretty interesting...........
