Jeff Ireland has come out and ask for us the fans to take a step back and wait for the off-season to play itself out before throwing in the towel on this season. He claims that Miami is going to build through the draft. So in an effort to please Mr. Ireland, lets open our minds to the possibilities Miami has in this draft. What is our ideal draft scenario that will help this team be relevant in 2012? Remember, we have a total of 8 picks this year including two 3rd round picks.

My Mock

1st Quinton Coples DE/OLB UNC
2nd Stephen Hill WR GT
3rd Kirk Cousins QB Mich St.
3rd Tommy Streeter WR Mia
4th James Hanna TE Okla
5th Ryan Steed CB Furman
6th Joe Long OT Wayne St (yes he is Jake's brother)
7th Delvin Johnson DT Marshall

Thoughts?

good luck getting hill at #40 and after that i'm not a fan with any of it...

With Mark Anderson signing with the bills today it seems that you have to go DE/OLB in the first round

not a bad mock draft, I like cousins a lot, but I would go with Melving Ingram over coples and Ladarius Green over Hanna and if somehow someway Floyd falls to the 2nd round we move up to take him but that probably wont happen

Hanna's 40 time is what mainly caught my eye. Green is a good option instead too

thats your first mistake right there...too much emphasis on the underwear olympics

cousins to me screams nfl care taker...i've seen enough of those in my life time wasting the position away in miami...

Can Melvin Ingram play effectively with a hand in the ground at the NFL level with his size? 6'-1" 260 lbs?

I like your mock draft but if I might trade out a couple of picks.

1st - Coples DE/UNC
2nd - Sanders OT/FSU
3rd - Olivier Vernon OLB/DE/UM
3rd - Rueben Randle WR/LSU
4th - Kirk Cousins MSU/QB (Not sure where he is projected to go so I could be way off on this pick so sorry in advance)

5th-7th I don't know could be anyone.

We need three really good players at OLB , QB, and WR I don't think we can get 3 starters and your taking a big risk picking a QB at 8 so to me the best bet is an OLB like Ingram or a reciever like Floyd

I don't believe Cousins last until our 3rd rd pick....let alone the 4th!!!

Where is he projected to be going? I have no idea but I was reading some articles that was saying around late 3rd or 4th round so I was just going off of that.

Cousins is projected to go between rounds 2-4. Kind of a large gap there but I think it can be narrowed to late 2nd to mid 3rd

Im stuck at #1. Have no clue who we will draft, plus if cleveland picks tannehill at 4, which i doubt, the whole thing gets screwed up and someone big is gonna fall.
