I saw this and looked into it, he might be a viable option if he does test the market.

WILL SOPOAGA HIT THE MARKET?
49ers defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga is rumored to be a target of the Dolphins should he hit the market. And why wouldn't he be? It's not every day that a talented, 26 year old nose tackle becomes available. At 6'2, 332 pounds, Sopoago would be an ideal fit for the Dolphins to help sure up their defensive line. But the 49ers are reportedly putting together a contract proposal for Sopoaga. The question, though, will be if he still decides to test the market. Considering the top DT on the market, Albert Haynesworth, is likely going to get slapped with the franchise tag, Sopoaga would be smart to test the market. The question for the 49ers will be if they are willing to pay Sopoaga more than they paid starter Aubrayo Franklin last year. Franklin got a 3 year, $6.15 million deal. Sopoaga will likely get a deal in the area of $3 to $4 million per year. That's a lot for someone who lacks much starting experience. But that's what the market will likely dictate. And if I'm the Dolphins, I'd seriously have to consider it.

Here are his stats:http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=6863

Looks like a backup. His 2007 stats look identical to 2006. 20 tackles, 2 sacks.

I'm not excited. Perhaps he can beat out Soliai and Fifita for the backup role.

I think that he might be what the doctor ordered. Great size for 3-4 NT, incredibly strong, and probably not too expensive. I think that we should get him.

He has been a backup, this dude is the best option out there at NT unless we draft one. He has the size and I bet the Dolphins snag him. You can't always just look at the STATS of a NT -- first of all he wasn't playing as much, second, they take up SPACE.

Playing NT is all about technique just because a guy has size does not mean he can play NT.If you just a big NT a center can take him 1 on 1 which means the gaurds will penerate to the second tier to your LB opeing holes for RB.

yeah, i heard about this. unless he really impresses someone, i don't think so. not sure he would be worth the money. we already have a project NT in soliai that the verdict is still out on, so 2 might be a little much. but he is young and if parcells and co. see something that is worth the risk in him, then it would be fine.

Saying the NT position is taken care of because you have Soliai is like saying the pass rush is taken care of because you have Junior Glymph.
