First off, im not sure if that is how you spell scenario. It is assumed that the Dolphins have zero shot at a wild card birth, which means there playoff chances all depend on the division, therefore, the Pats. At 7-5, they obviously have the upperhand on the our beloved Fins. Here is how thhings need to pan out. No matter what, the Patriots have to lose three of there final four. Now, one of those has to be to the Dolphins in the last week of the season. Also, if the Dolphins lose to the Chargers next week, then the Patriots will have to lose every game the rest of the way, which includes a Monday Night Matchup with the Jets. So I conclude that the Dolphins realistically need to run the table and finish 9-7. If that happens, the Patriots need to lose three of four, including one to the Dolphins. They play at Buffalo next week, which could possibly be a loss. Also, they play the Bucs who are a better team than them right now.
So, if the Pats lose there next two, they would be at 7-7. If the Dolphins win there next two, they would be 7-7. That means as Long as the Dolphins beat the pitiful Titans on Christmas eve, then they could go into the last week with a chance at the division. The Dolphins need to win all four games. The only way they could afford to lose a game would be if the Patiots Lose either all four, or three to the Jets, Bills, and the Fins. That would leave them tied at 8-8. If they both have the same division record, then it would come down to conference. The Dolphins and Pats would also be tied with the Pats in Conference, which means there would be another tie breaker, which I could not fathomally realize what that other tiebreaker could be.
All I want is for the Dolphins to go into that last game with a chance at going to the playoffs if they beat the Patriots. For that to happen, many things need to happen that are out of the Dolphins control. But what I am happy about is that if we win next week, then I beleive we will have a chance at the Divison. That is all I want.
