Simms is not that good but he would be a good stop gap guy until Beck or the rookie we draft is ready

why would tampa wanna trade for griese, didn't they have him and then get rid of him?

I want Gradkowski, he is good but Gruden doesn't know how to stick with one QB

I have a feeling that Parcells and Co. have an eye on Chris and would scoop him up if he's available.

The Buc's were down to a dozen QB's and that makes Gruden nervous.

The only thing good about Chris Simms is his last name, i'll pass.

Alot about Simms to like...6'4" 225...ran a 4.87, 31" vert.

3200 yds...26 tds...plus 4 by run. Strong arm.

Like I wrote...he wasn't the type of QB to play in a west coast offense.

I agree. Our 2rd QB will be someone we draft. We will go into the season with Beck/McCown/Rookie and just let them fight it out. IMO our staff is pretty comfortable with giving Beck every opportunity to be the guy and McCown will be insurance incase Beck is injured or can't cut it. We will draft a Rookie project in round a later round and groom him. In all probability we are not a contender next year so investing alot of time/picks etc in another "veteran" QB is just not a good move with so many other holes to fill.

if im not mistaken from a few years ago...Phil Simms said he wouldnt like his son playing for Bill Parcells. i dont have a link or a video on it, but im sure somebody can google something up on this...at the same time, i wouldnt want Simms anyways. that guys sucks.

Coming into the NFL, I was the first person to dog Simms. He had something like a 2-14 td to int ratio with a 0-6 record in big games at Texas.

Then I saw what he did at Tampa and was pretty impressed. I'm not saying he's the answer to all our prayers but his stats in 2005 are comparable to McCowns in 2004. The difference between the 2 is that McCown has had more playing time but has yet to take his play to another level. Simms on the other hand doesn;t have a spleen so i say bring them both in, along with Culpepper and let them all bang it out in camp.

Since the Jets decided to shell out rediculous amounts of guaranteed money, there's really no big names left to pick up and occupy the rest of our cap space.
