Possible Reason no coach has been named...Yet

Now there is no link or nothing i have read to confirm this...But word around south florida apparently is that the reason no coach has been named is because Wayne Huzinga is attempting to SELL the team...Now this comes from my uncle and grandfather who lives in Ft. Lauderdale...He was at dinner last night and my grandfather was talking to a guy who apparently works for wayne and he told my grandpa that wayne is trying to sell the team to DAN MARINO and a group of people whom includes the owner of Maroon Car Dealership i believe...Im not from south florida just visit often and im not sure if maroon is a dealership or a parts place, but none the less this is the word...Then today my uncle was having lunch at the same place my grandpa was at the night before and he was given the same info by the waitress or bar tender or something like that...So take it for what its worth could be miss info so i was hesitant to post this but my grandpa said the guy didnt seem crazy he seemd to know what he was talking about...and then my uncle hearing the same thing was kind of odd...
 
Marino and Maroone don't have the money.

WH is not selling the team.

You don't spend almost half a billion improving a stadium to sell the team.

WH doesn't like to lose money and if he sold the team within the next 4 years...that is exactly what he would do. (Nobody would buy the fins to have a lease in Dolphin Stadium. NOBODY. The value with the stadium is way too much money....like 1.2 billion)

I love this rumor. I would absolutely love for Marino to run the Dolphins. Oh man, that would be a dream come true. A real football player/legend actually heading up this organization, that actually knows something about the sport- a dream come true.

As far as rumors go, this one rocks.
 
Could be a possibility, considering Dan is sitting in on the HC interviews? I guess we'll have to see. Thanks for taking a chance and posting the info.

it's not a rumor. It's a fantasy.
 
i guess if the team is sold i was told the stadium doesnt go with it...Wayne still wants to improve the stadium and get the superbowl there more often...Last year it was said that he would be making this super bowl town around the stadium and i guess that is still in the works...but when you said Marino and the maroon guys dont have enough money your probally right...my grandpa told me it was a group of people which included dan and the maroon dude...Believe me i am very skeptical myself i sat on the phone and argued with my gramps for about an hour and he thinks its a reliable guy...

Kinda like Wayne Gretzky and the Phoenix Coyotes.
 
That rumor has been kicking around for years.They couldnt come with the billion dollars that is required to buy the team.

I doubt there is any current validity to it.Even if it were true the would have to be several months of due diligence involved before a sale could be made and we need a HC now.
 
maroone already owns a large portion of the florida panthers as well

i doubt this is true for the $$ reasons stated before

the stadium is worth a fortune right now, especially with commitments for this superbowl and the one in 2 years (2009 or 2010?)

if the group decided to pull what the marlins group did and lease from h.WH it would deprive them of most of the $$ they would need to run the team for the future years (stadium concessions, etc) its just not a sustainable option for an ownership group if they dont have ownership of the stadium (really its just the concession money thats worth so much, but thats what comes with ownership of the stadium)

i'M NOT SURE IF any of what you say is true but i hope your uncle or grandpa at least got a lap dance or something out of it.
 
i case i wasnt clear wayne would own the entire stadium and all that and this group which included dan would own the team...its possible because wayne owned the team for while and the robbies owned the stadium...plus everyone knows dan is intrested in buying a pro team he tried to buy the penguines with Mario Lemiux a few years back, but it fell through...
