We NEED a solid #2 corner. We have a plethora of good young receivers - especially given that Welker and Gilmore are coming on.

The Eagles need a receiver in the worst way. Their top three from last year are not in camp. Philadelphia is deep at CB.


Let's trade Derrious Thompson to Philadelphia for Matt Ware (backup CB)...

matt ware sucks. i hear he's doing horrible.
 
unless Speilman is working in the eagles front office DT isnt going anywhere...he fell off over the years and he sucks now

He was pretty good at UCLA. The other possiblity is Thompson for Roderick Hood - the other side back up CB for the Eagles.
 
I'd gladly give up DT for Ware. But don't get your hopes up, Philly would laugh at us.

The Eagles have a pretty good secondary. It follows that their backups could potentially start for a few teams. We're not going to get one of their starters for Derrious, but a back up they may listen to. They played Derrious twice a year when he was in Washington. McNabb needs somebody to throw to.

I'd also look through Baltimore's garbage for a good young corner.
 
i say we trade marty booker for lido sheppard, and a third round pick

I disagree. Thompson had one bad pre-season game and he's already getting hated on. Last season he played solid and made (imo) the 2 most important catches of the season. The td catch to beat the Pats and another great td catch the following week to beat the Browns. Linehan has also said that he wanted to get Thompson while he was coaching at Minny. I don't see him going anywhere and expect him to be on the final roster.

I'd love that, but there's no way Philadelphia trades its best young corner. Heck, i'd give them Booker and Thompson for Sheppard.

Welker and Gilmore can fill those spots. Not likely though.
 
I like it.

ware doens't make much (big plus)....and he young (22) H:6'2" W:210

he cerrtainly has the size

but before I mention Ware to them I see if they do a DT for Sheldon Brown...I'm almost positive Phili wouldn't do that but you never know? Besides, it's always good to start high and if they go for it, asking for Ware might not seem like a bad idea...just a thought
 
Ware is better suited for FS. Philly will soon realize that their experiment has failed.
 
Get Derrius out of here so I don't have to groan so often. He sucks even if he does catch the odd good ball.

well, Thompson has been hated on well before this 1st preseason game. We've be railing on this guy since the middle of his 1st year here. Yes, he had TWO great catches last year......but that's about it. He's always preacticed well but come game time it's like he freezes up or something. That's what's frustrating about him, such a great practice player, flashes skills (like the two catches you mention) but shows no consistancy and drops a lot of passes at critical times. I don't hate the guy, I just wish he could put it all together....plus we need CB (preferably a starter but a nickle back wouldn't hurt)
