alright, i dont have the compensation sheet sitting in front of me, and if i am way off on the value of this trade i apologize. but a possible partner might be the Jets. if they dont take D'Brick with the 4th pick hey likely will still be looking to pick up solid o line talent. with the likes of Winston Justice going at our pick perhaps, if he was still on the board then we could trade back with the Jets acquiring the 29th pick, and the 4th pick in the second round as they are moving up 13 spots.

this still gives us a shot at a good DB such as Whitner from Ohio St. or a good O lineman such as Mangold. or we could look at an o lineman w/ the pick in the second such as Jean Gilles who has played T and G. if nothing else it acquires us an extra pick. just something to think about.

That really isn't half as outlandish as most of the posts on here. Kudos to you for that.

i just checked the draft chart, and we'd end up about 180 points away in value. so we might end up having to send a 3rd rounder to them to make up that difference, however, if thats the case, you could look at it as we essentially got Culpepper for a 3rd rounder.

I wonder how willing the Jets would be to trade with a division rival?

i think if you're dealing with draft choices, the inclination to not trade within your division would be much less.

draft day trades happen with whoever really. in the division does not really matter.

I wouldn't want to move down that far, but i like the idea of trading down (a couple spots)

I forget the year.

NE stole a 1rst round pick off us because we HAD to have the 2nd round pick.

I want to say the person we HAD to have was Todd Wade, but I am not sure.
I am at work and don't feel like doing the research

It was our 2nd and we gave it up to move up the previous year for......Wade Smith. I know I just threw up a little too. :shakeno: Pornstache

My feeling is the Lavar situation will likely be decided very soon and Miami will go in the direction of a Holmes or Jackson if Lavar signs. Otherwise Manny Lawson is a strong possibility for the pick as is Whitner.

this might be one of the best trade ideas so far. are mangini and saban friends maybe mangini will be like ehhh your my buddy i'll hook u up wit da sweet dealz

Yep. We gave up a 2nd rounder the next year to pick Wade Smith in the 3rd round. When I was reading the "all time trades" list not ago I thought it was a typo - or they left out some part of the trade. Then I remembered we were dealing with Wannsedt.
