Possible trade with the Eagles?

Trade down pick up bast available OLB (Kindle, Graham, Hughes) then take Major Wright with the pick we get in the trade down.

Double up on best available NTs and additional OLB and TE

I saw this. If Philly will do it, I'd trade #12 for #24 and #35. The question is whether Philly likes Earl Thomas. Berry's not going to be there at 12 (meaning if the Eagles want Berry only, they'll have to give a lot more to get him), but Thomas likely will be there, and 12 is a great spot to get him.

Dolphins can grab Kindle or Graham at that spot and Cody with #35.
I would really like to do something like this. It would offset giving up a lot for Marshall and you can still get impact players at these spots.

As far as Im concerned,if Berry or Morgan arent on the board when Miami picks, its probably the best thing for the team to trade down....I would think they have,or are in the process of already feeling some teams out now,and have players at those points in the draft they consider to fit thier scheme.....

Nate Allen should be there in the 2nd and he could start. But Rotoworld reported the Dolphins are "smitten" with Major Wright from Florida. The prblem is I dont think Wright can cover. Reshad Jones and Morgan Burnett will also be there in the 2nd.

Is there a safety in the draft that could start for the Phins in Rds 2 or 3?

Yes, you can generally find safeties in every round of the draft. Al Afalava and Keith Ellison were 6th round draft picks last year who were day 1 starters.

Nate Allen and Morgan Burnett will go late 1st/early 2nd. But you could get Chad Jones in the late 2nd, who I think is every bit the football player that Thomas is (but not the athlete). TJ Ward or Major Wright (who the Dolphins reportedly love) in the 3rd.

Couldn't agree with you more.

I'd add a CB and ILB with one of the low picks though.

MIA is not going to get full value for #12 if you are using the trade value chart. We need to get over it, the trade value chart of the Jimmy Johnson era is a thing of the past. The Browns last year didnt get anywhere near the value for the trades they made last year. I would not use those trades as the standard but they do suggest that the trade value chart is past its time. MIA should be happy if it can get Philly's #1 and second #2 (55 ) and be ready to move on with those picks. JAX is also looking to move down and there is speculation that DEV is as well so we dont need to think that teams moving up are going to give away the store they have options as well.

:ohno:
I'd like to pick up some more picks as much as the rest of you, but if one of the top FS is sitting there at 12, and trading out means we miss out on both of the top FS in the draft . . . . I'm not so sure I like that. Yes we need OLB too, but can we get the game-changing FS in the 2nd or 3rd round vs. an OLB ???? Guess that's why the FO makes the big bucks!
