Postgame Thoughts

8) benny sapp is terrible, but this has been obvious for a while now.
9) everyone is making a huge deal about Brady the league MVP, take away that BS 99 yd pass and he has thrown for the same amount of yardage as henne...the worst QB in the league according to many "experts".
10) we cannot cover a TE to save our lives...but again, this has been obvious for a while now.
oh and 11) D. Thomas was inactive. people blaming him for not producing are out of the loop.

6) Should have drafted Rob Gronkowski in last year's draft instead of a run defending mediocre OLB like Koa Misi

We needed a TE desperately like him and he was selected 2 spots after Misi. I was livid when we selected misi instead of Gronk

6) Bad offensive play calling in the Red Zone. Henne has missed the fade throw I believe three times before the 4th and goal and Miami went with the fade route again. We got stuffed in the RZ before but when it is only half a yard you need to just smash it in.
Totally agree that the play calling in the RZ was bad. The first and only time we put Bush out in space he scored. We needed to spread them out.

The Pats were one of the worst teams to start out with. The continuity of the Pats system was a huge advantage.
Henne was really sharp today. He made strides. Everything doesnt happen all at once. There is a chance that something will be salvagable with him.

We complain all we want about the secondary issues, but it was the inability to get pressure on Brady that blew everything else up. He had all day.The game was lost right there.

I disagree. I doubt we were gonna beat the Patriots no matter if we played them game 1 or game 12, just because they are a better team, but at-least this is a good punch in the mouth and hopefully this team will respond like they usually do..

1. Having Daniel Thomas out tonight really hurt us. Twice when we got inside the 5 we settled for a fg and threw an awful fade pass to Hartline. Once Henne improves his redzone offense we will have a solid QB on our hands. If he doesn't...well...then we better have a bruiser and and a beastly offensive line that will allow us to score...

2. I'm already disappointed at the thought of potentially spending another 1st round pick on an offensive lineman next year cuz Colombo and Incognito are very disappointing...

3. After Davis and Smith our secondary blows. Smith is iffy at times but they need depth there very badly.

4. Our LBers still can't cover TEs.

5. The pass rush MUST be fixed otherwise it could be a long season

Never understood the idea of using Hartline as the "go-to" guy in the redzone on fades. He is white. White men can't jump. Marshall, while obvious to other teams, is the guy in the red zone.

Marshall's end zone patterns are awful. I'd throw him one in the flat and let him break a DB's tackle.

Henne played great with poor pass blocking, but the fade is not his strengih.

henne did his job not his fault if we cant go for it a half a yard from endzone.

Yeah, I thought it was an obvious thought but I will add another......................

6) Our defense looked nothing like a top ten defense last night.....they only gave up the 5th highest passing performance in NFL history...great defenses don't do that.

While the Dolphins were outmatched tonight, the fan attendance still remains an issue. At least 30% of the fans were Patriots fans. Then again, that is supposedly Ok. lol

Who do you think populated most of Florida's coastal and urban area's from the 50's & 60's till today? Florida's population is 4 to 5 times what it was when I was a kid growing up in the 60's, florida blew up due to northern transplants....many of whom stay allegiant to their old teams.....its the same way in Tampa.

You should have been at the Miami-Bucs pre-season game....if you were a Tampa fan you would have been complaining about half the stadium being Dolphin fans.

This is nothing new....the simple solution is for the team to put a winning product on the field, the rest will take care of itself.

There is a large part of the fanbase who strongly felt Sparano did not deserve another season...I was one of them, to get back on topic....we always seem to get outcoached.

When Vontae went out, Brady took advantage and tore the defense apart, specifically Nolan Carroll. The Welker 99 yd TD falls on Nolan. He had a gassed defense and put Sapp on an island and you saw what happened. He should have left the defense in it's base to try and catch their breath. Conditioning falls on Sparano. Absolutely embarrassing that the Dolphins fall from the heat, a long time home advantage.

Henne played great between the 20s but still had some red zone struggles. On the fade to Hartline he had Bess 1 step inside the end zone. The poor run blocking of the OL is the problem with not smashing it in there.

I am stunned at the manner this played out. The offense played well and the defense looked horrible. Not what I expected at all.

I put the 99 yard TD, as well as the first big pass play, squarely on Reshad Jones. He was out of position, and then took bad angles trying to recover. If that's Clemons, at least one of those plays does not happen like that.

People arent paying big dollars to watch this team get embarrassed on its home field time and time again. Take off the homer glasses.

1) Hartline is simply not good enough to be a starting #2 receiver in this league

2) We seem to get outcoached nearly every week.

3) While Henne is playing better, he still has to score touchdowns in the redzone to be a winner in this league.

4) We should have kept Ronnie Brown and used that 2nd rounder on something else.

5) Shocked that is was Dolphins having cramping problems in the south Florida heat and not our opponent, this would not have happened to a Don Shula team.

1 - Agreed.

2 - Nolan got outcoached. We scored enough points to win, and had plenty of opportunites to.

3 - We scored enough points to win, and had plenty of opportunites to. Can't put too much on Henne. Blame the line, RB, not Henne on this one.

4 - Rather have Ricky.

5 - The heat thing is a joke. Both play it in and it doesn't effect one and not the other. It's very hard to condition yourself for this kind of heat anyway, especially when you play in an insulated bubble. Thanks Saban..
