To my understanding of the law all Directv Subscribers have the right to sue the NFL for misleading Ad campaigns and marketing advertising live games via NFL Sunday Ticket from Directv, for atleast a portion of there annual subscriptions fee due to this decision by the NFL to prevent Direct TV from broadcasting the live game tonight. Below is the advertised black rules to the NFL Sunday Ticket:

Due to NFL and Broadcast Network requirements outside of DIRECTV's control, games broadcast by your local Fox or CBS station will not be available on channels in the 700s. You must tune to your local Fox or CBS station to watch those games. DIRECTV is required to enforce this rule to ALL its customers, including customers in areas where DIRECTV does not offer Local Channels. To see if you live in a Local Channel market or if they will be coming soon to your area, click here.

A regular-season, Sunday afternoon home team game will be blacked out in a home team's territory if the game fails to sell out at least 72 hours before the game. Click here to to find out if your ZIP Code is inside the local broadcast area for any NFL team.

Visit the F.A.Q. page for more detailed information about blackouts and game availability.

Now this game is being showed locally and should be blacked out on the Sunday tickets in those areas only, and should be available for subscribers outside those areas

I think all of us NFL Sunday Ticket Subscribers should team up and sue the NFL and Directv for a refund on this game ( 1/16th of your original fees paid for service ) and any legal costs arising from the lawsuit!

Here soon, it won't be worth the hassle for the 10-ish bucks they will have to pay each of us, and we'll still all subscribe again next year anyway. Anything Directv has to pay out (you can bet your hard earned money) will be added via a price increase for Sunday Ticket next year. Face it....we're screwed.

I think you missed this part:

Actual number of games varies by market due to blackout rules and other conditions, and is based upon a full 17-week NFL season. To receive sports programming, all DIRECTV Receivers must be continuously connected to the same land-based phone line. NFL SUNDAY TICKET and NFL SUNDAY TICKET SuperFan automatically continue each year, provided DIRECTV carries these services, unless customer calls to cancel prior to the season. Programming consists of all Sunday games broadcast on FOX and CBS at 1pm and 4pm ET. However, games broadcast by your local FOX or CBS affiliate will not be available in NFL SUNDAY TICKET. Subscription broadcasts during Week 16 will air on Saturday, December 24. Commercial locations require an appropriate licensee agreement. Signal theft is subject to civil and criminal penalties. "NFL," the NFL Shield design, "NFL SUNDAY TICKET" and its respective logo are registered trademarks of the National Football League and its affiliates. Team names, logos and uniform designs are registered trademarks of the teams indicated. Programming, pricing, terms and conditions subject to change. Pricing is residential. Taxes not included. Receipt of DIRECTV programming is subject to the terms of the DIRECTV Customer Agreement; copy provided at DIRECTV.com and in your first bill. Hardware and programming sold separately. Equipment specifications and programming options may vary in Alaska and Hawaii. DIRECTV services not provided outside the U.S. ©2005 DIRECTV, Inc. DIRECTV and the Cyclone Design logo and DIRECTV SPORTS are registered trademarks of DIRECTV Inc. All other trademarks and service marks are the property of their respective owners.

I agree, even though I would love to sue on principle! If there was a class action suit or something, I'd certainly join! But one of us would be out some bucks just to get it going - and I'm guessing most of us don't have the $$$ to spend just on principle.

And - yeah - I'm a sucker who'll be signing up next year no matter what ...
