Potential GM Candidates

None.

Also, what do you know about Eliot Wolf? I know you think it's unlikely, but IIRC Ron Wolf lives down here and has recommended his son for the job before. There have been rumblings previously that he might like to be closer to his dad.

Eliot Wolf would be a slam dunk hire, but he's the wonderboy for the Packers so getting him may be tough. But Wolf would be right up there with Omar Kahn and Marc Ross as unbelievably great hires by Ross

Dawn Apante will not be the GM of the Dolphins Ross knows he is losing his fan base and season ticket base! The fans will not stand for some equal opportunity social experiment! Now before you libs get outraged Apante has exactly ZERO experience in player scouting, drafting, etc and no we don't need to trust her to hire the right people. Because of her brazen attitude she will be told to get on her broom and fly away by the new GM!

Well, what makes you think that? Is he just there living off of his dad's name, or is he actually out there making good decisions for the Packers?

Because, if so, back up the Brinks truck, Mr. Ross.

Like a boss!!! Only reason aponte should be in the war room during draft day is to bring sandwiches!

Oh he's very good at his job. His dad trained him since he was a kid and he's Ted Thompson's right hand man when it comes to the draft. I mean he's basically compared to Theo Epstein as he's only 32.

Not saying he'd be an instant hit (Ireland was seen as a huge get back in the day) but the kid has flown up the ranks with the Pack and not just because of his daddy

Make. It. Happen.

love Eliot. he's a U alum. a Miami kid. and I've talked him up on these boards the last 2 seasons. but in this case, at this critical time in our franchise, I believe we need more of a presence, a difference maker.. a proven track record of a GM.. like a Pioli; and maybe Peterson.. just sayin

Never heard of Eliot Wolf, but if he's anything like his dad Ron Wolf I'd be happy with him taking the spot as I'm sure he knows Philbin already from the GB days.

I would add Jim Popp to the list of names. Popp is the GM of the Montreal Alouettes and wants to get an NFL job. Go look up what he's done there; it's very impressive. He was a finalist for the Colts job a couple of years ago.

If you're like me and agree that talent is talent and that guys who are wildly successful at one level of the sport are worth gambling on (the way I feel about Gus Malzahn, for instance), that's somebody I'd like to see considered.

I'd certainly prefer him over a Jets retread.

Hell With Marc Trestman looking good it's worth a shot

I posted this before, but just look up the dude's record. He took over the Baltimore Stallions their first year in the league. Went to the Grey Cup. Won it their second year in the league. Team moved to Montreal.

The Baltimore Stallions/Montreal Alouettes have had one General Manager in the team's 20 year existence as a 'new' franchise. They have never missed the playoffs. They have made it to the Divisional Championship 15 out of 20 years. They have made it to the Grey Cup 10 out of 20 years. Won it 5 times.

This man brought an expansion team into the league and has reached the championship game ONE OUT OF EVERY TWO YEARS. He has won it one out of every four years. You think he's good at his job? I think he's really ****ing good at his job.

This is a guy who hasn't been fired. This is a guy who simply doesn't have failure on his resume. We'd be criminally stupid not to at least interview him. The Colts knew what was up.

Jdwannysnaker,
I'm sold! Pitch that to Ross. Like I have said I an with you on Malzan too. I would love an inventive mind, someone who adapts and adjusts!

If that happened I would seriously consider walking away from the Dolphins. But I don't think it will.

Not the GM…VP of something or another, but head of football ops. Yes. I am sticking to that.

McCloughan, Baalke, Xanders

I wonder if they are waiting til after the playoffs to get to McCloughan or Baalke.
